Travel+ Food Blog: Tokyo, 2010

Those of you who guessed that I am going to Japan are correct. *You guys are goooooood!!! :)*

I am now in Tokyo 🙂

I think it’s still wintertime here in Tokyo. The temperature at this very minute? 1 degree C. I am  already very bundled up, socks and all, but my feet are still cold!! *brrrr*

Anyway, this whole day was all about food. From the time we got to the airport where I had a cup of Philippine Airlines lounge’s famous Arroz Caldo

to our dinner here in Ginza tonight at this restaurant with this name (sorry I can’t translate it, other than the 1st 3 characters which literally mean “Japan Ocean” hahaha).

The restaurant is almost just across from the Hermes building *hahahaha we HAD to eat across H, right? :D*

There’s a Japanese- English menu with pictures, so it wasn’t a “point- point” (turo- turo) dinner for us hahaha.

The downside to the translation? Some of the dishes don’t sound appetizing… hahaha. Take a look at dish #38.

“Butter- sauteed Common Squid with Its Guts”. Yech. Hehehehe… You want to try that? 🙂

We had the “Fisherman’s” sashimi platter for Y1,850++ (not a bad price!!)

Everything was So fresh!!!

Pepper- flavored Ramen. Ok the soup stock was SOOOOOOOO delicious. And Very spicy!! *I looooove!!!*

Grilled Blue Marlin– the fish tasted like cod. But it was blue marlin. We double- checked!

And then for dessert, my friend had this

take note of that pillbox beside her ice cream *hahahaha*. She still thinks she’s a spring chicken, but her pillbox tells a different story *hahahaha sorrry, girlfriend ! *

I don’t like red beans. So I opted for the simpler version

DH had this.

I don’t remember what that purplish thing was– and neither did DH *tsk tsk, everyone’s becoming forgetful!*, but I know that those 2 red “things” that look like tuna sashimi, are NOT tuna sashimi. They’re apples soaked in red wine. Quite yummy 🙂
And now, I am preparing for bed. Tokyo is one hour ahead of Manila, so it’s already 12:44am here. We have an early morning tomorrow so I better open that luggage and prepare to change for zzz land 🙂
Tomorrow again, peeps! 🙂
