Tiendesitas and Y Tu Mama Tambien

Gooood morning! It feels strange to be awake at what I call, an “ungodly” hour, but heck, I am awake. Third day of lifestyle change taking effect (and I reallly wonder how long THIS will last). And hear this, I actually have longer “dreams” too, now that I really sleep over 6 hours a night. My dream last night was so real, it almost made me weep when I woke up, realizing that it was ONLY a dream *major bawl*. See, I dreamt that I had bought a lottery ticket for my nana, and that nana won and wanted to share it with me. Pot prize: Php 15 Million (US$ 275,000). Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. It was a dream. I never even got to the part where we were going to claim the prize! Geeeeeez!!!! *major bawl*

Anyway, PG emailed me and asked me about the MJ Venetia bag and I want to clarify to all that the bag is NOT made of pebbled leather. It is an uneven grain which makes it SEEM like it is scratch- resistant. Just thought I’d make that clear before any other MJ expert comes up and says the bag is fake, because it can’t be. The seller and I share the same Sales associate at Neiman Marcus (her, being the fave client– oh shucks, I don’t even get any VIP treatment *ptooey* oh well haha)

I passed by Tiendesitas yesterday (right by C5). Has anyone been there? This was my 2nd time there since the place opened. I really like this place because it was not crowded, although the afternoon heat was not so bearable.

There was literally a rowful of native buri (weave) bags, and I didn’t spot any counterfeit designer bags at this place (wow what a welcome change!). I looked around some more and found this! Oooh familiar bags!! These foil bags (they also have them in “weave” design– ala Bottega hehehe) are apparently a livelihood project for women, which made me look at these in a different light (heck they even have a “papillon” hehe). I used to see them and just think that it’s really ingenious of someone to craft such pieces, but I just dont know if anyone would be willing to carry them. But now, I realized that buying one of these will help the KILUS foundation (a multi-purpose cooperative). Sooo I bought myself a cute green pouch for only Php 50 (US$ 0.92). These make cool loot bags as well for parties 😀 You can contact the foundation at (632) 671-2834 or email at kilus_foundation@hotmail.com should you decide you want to order a bulk of these bags for an event. You will be helping these women a lot by doing so 😀

There are 2 more interesting shops I passed, one of which is HDY.There are a lot of belt bags that were designed ala Gucci (*teehee the design is the SAME*), but their bags are made of snakeskin! For the price of Php 550 (I was sure it’s not 5,500), it’s quite a bargain!!

Another boutique, this time for sole lovers, is Flats. They specialize in well, flats! I love that ankle-tie slippers. Tsk, time to reassess my shoe closet (not like I have a lot of shoes) and figure out what more I need (take note, need, not want *guffaw*) 😀

Came dinner time, I dined at Y Tu Mama Tambien with DH and friends KG, CS, JL with hubby EL and my godchild KL. This restaurant has become my favorite– I love Mexican food, and this is by far the best one I’ve been to. Owners David and Janine are great foodies too, so the food served at this cool hangout is guaranteed to tickle your discriminating palate.

We ordered the appetizer sampler for all, and a chicken burrito for DH (which he said was really good– eat your heart out Chevy’s), and my perennial fave, beef soft tacos. The prices are VERY reasonable for the quality of food served. My soft tacos were less than Php300 and look at what my stomach had to contend with! We all went home happy campers, thanks in part to the sangria (DH says it’s the best he’s had in this town) that Janine had given us– woohoo for free 😀

So if you can’t figure out where to bring your friends for dinner, go to Y Tu Mama Tambien (with an awesome view to boot), located at the 3rd floor (penthouse) DLA Bldg, MC Home Depot Complex , 32nd street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Tel. (632) 815-9539. Landmark is the huge MC Home depot– the bldg with which the restaurant is located, is situated between that Home depot, and Price Smart S&R (staircase to the top floor is beside Cafe Bec).

Time to head out now, more bags coming soon!! My voice is a lot better since I rested it yesterday, and by night, I was already screaming with laughter. I have a laryngoscopy appointment on Thursday. I hope it really is just “reflux” caused by hyperacidity, coupled with post-nasal drip allergy which triggered an infection. Tsk. Til then, I will save my voice again til it is needed *muwahahaha*

P.S. THANK YOU Baghag Miss B. I love the body form you gave me (seee I get really cool free stuff!!! hehehe) and all those candy colored accessories 😀 Even my kids loved the loot you gave them! Wooohooo I have friends in high places! *Cough social climbing bag hag alert!!! Hehehe*

P.P.S. There is no point in that bag contest, no one wants to join and get the free Anya pouch *guffaw*. Am I THAT big of a loser that no one wants to join? *Errr… yes!* HAH. See, if I changed the Anya into a… say, Louis Vuitton Damier Trousse Makeup Case, will people join? Your thoughts and comments are appreciated 🙂 *muwahahaha I am PATHETIC!!!*

  1. I would’ve joined the competition regardless of the prize. I’d join just for the fun of it! But I really only have 3 ‘decent’ designer handbags.. One of which is ‘borderline’ designer (Furla). So I’m a bit embarassed of taking a pic of my 3 measly bags *cry*

But I’ll definately be voting! =D

  2. Been to Tiendesitas a couple of times. Oh, I need to be back there to buy some of those native buri bags. We’ll give them as “pasalubong” for my inlaws abroad. Hihi.
