Thebaghag’s Retreat Report: Part 1

I was hoping to be in my incommunicado mode when I went on this weekend getaway with my primary school girl friends CS and JT. I figured it was to be a retreat of some kind– JT is getting hitched soon and it would’ve been nice to get some “girl time” before she throws in the towel of singlehood. So you know how retreats are– no mobile phones and contact with the rest of the world. But wait, seeing how our retreat was held in shoppers paradise, I saw immediately how impossible it would be to “cut” myself off from the baghag friends whom I constantly keep in touch with (new gorgeous bag? Call the local baghag mafia haha):D Do the words “Hopeless Bag Addict” ring a bell? *hehe*. So much for a retreat! I had no recourse but to keep my phone on (my sometimes dead phone doesn’t help haha…I never get all my messages anymore haha).

Ok so in retrospect, I had to rename my “retail retreat” to “gastronomic retreat” because there weren’t really much bags to lust for, and once the baghag gets frustrated, it’s eating time 😀 But what kind of a post would this be if I don’t talk about bags, right? *BOOOOOORING* (But psst, men *aka financiers of the baghags haha* read this blog for the fooood photos!! So guys, hold onto your pants haha :D)

Let me satisfy the baghags first. Here are the bags I saw (but not necessarily like).

Louis Vuitton has stock of the Neverfull in Hong Kong. They have it in GM, MM, and PM. Although the MM gets sold out fairly fast, as what I was told. They also have the metallic versions of the LoVe bag (metallic meaning the letters are spelled out in metallic vinyl. Body of bag remains canvas). Speaking of metallic, did any of you hags walk away with the new metallic Lockit? 🙂 Share!!

Louis Vuitton also now carries the Monogram Bronze. Seen here are the Sergeant GM and PM (not something I’d buy, to be honest.Heck if this bag was given to me, I won’t use it either *muwahahaha meanie!!*. It’s just not me!)

Chloe bags were on sale at On Pedder. Prices are not bad, although bag choices were limited.

The Jimmy Choo Ramona is also on sale.I never bothered to ask for the price because I was not interested haha.

Other bags on sale at On Pedder were brands like Sissi Rossi… Nothing really noteworthy, sad to say.

So while we were crossing the street, I saw this woman who had a patchwork LV bag. The problem is, I have seen the patchwork bowly bag and Speedy,but I’ve never seen this style. So now I am imploring the LV diehards here to help me determine if this lady’s LV bag is real or not. I dared not go any closer or she might hit me hard on the head with her shopping bags. Hahaha!! She was quite the label hag actually *like me haha*, she wore real LV loafers (no, I didn’t go down on my knees to check out the heels of her shoes, that’s too close for comfort haha)… It’s just the bag that baffled me. The lady came from Landmark (shopping). So I can’t fathom her carrying a faux LV though… but you never know. So, baghags, enlighten me with your LV expertise!! 🙂 Is her bag real or is it faux?

Chanel flap bag in patent. I ceased to know exactly the name of this bag. It looks like a rock, so it could be part of the rock series. It’s kinda funky, it looks like those black garbage bags you can buy in bulk at your friendly neigborhood grocery store 🙂 *Snicker* Oye I didn’tmean to offend those who have this bag. It’s got a bit of a bite, this bag. 😀

Anyway we got tired of walking around, so we ended up eating in Central, at a restaurant that DH and I frequent. Restaurant is called Tsui Wah, and they have recently extended their operating hours to 3 am. Let me tell you, the restaurant is ALWAYS full. We got there at 2:30pm, way past lunch time, and it was FULL.

Here’s what we had:

Hainanese Chicken Rice with chinese soup (not chicken stock actually). It’s a good dish, but I’ve had better. The soup tasted strange, like it had some herbs. But you know what, I keep coming back for this dish! *hehe addict!*

Fried Chicken Wings (which is a local favorite) These are huge! And they’re so yummy– yummy to the bone!

Szechuan Prawns with Noodles (super gooood)!!I need not say much about this dish because it’s fantastic. The shrimps were so crunchy and good!

I espied a diner with this Chanel expandable classic bag. Oh.My.Gawd. I want this bag!!!! *scream* It’s all sold out in Chanel stores (haha I was resourceful, I called them up! See, I need the darned phone to “function”:D)–forget that “incommunicado” kinda retreat haha.

Ok, tomorrow, I will blog about what happens after Tsui Wah 🙂

Hope I somehow satisfied the baghags and the foodhags (+ financiers haha) 😀

EVENTS, EVENTS, EVENTS Alert! Janina D. Hoschka launches her jewellery collection (Janina) tomorrow at the Manila Peninsula Hotel at 3pm, Conservatory. Check out her beautiful pieces– I guarantee you’ll fall in love with them! Tomorrow also happens to be Metro Wear (produced by Metro Magazine) at the Rockwell Tent–the fashion show will feature the creations of Ivar Aseron, Joey Samson, Wynn Wynn Ong among others. It’s a must- attend event. And lastly, tomorrow is also the launch of Abundance, a lifestyle exhibit sale at the New Manila Living, 78 Dona Hemady Street, Corner 12th St,Marianna New Manila.
