Thebaghag wallows in poverty + Bag reviews

Aaaargh, so ok, thank you for inundating me with anonymous comments, asking what I wore to the event. I wore a terno tux jacket with black pants 😀 And I did not bring a bag because I wouldn’t have been able to carry it (unless I hung the huge cabas around my neck hehe). My terno jacket was made by Joey Samson. What really made it all funny was when some ladies approached me and asked to take a photo of what I was wearing– sans my head and face *muwahahaha I guess my face is really THAT ugly haha*.

CAC was asking me what I was going to reward myself with after all that hard work. Well, I rewarded myself with a cute gold charm necklace from The Imelda Collection. My SIL scored big time when she bought a huge cross necklace, which turned out to be made with a Christian Lacroix brooch! I almost died when she told me that the centerpiece of the necklace was signed. Holy smokes. That is not junk 😀 That is a friggin’ gold mine and a good find! *Hello Good Finds shopping Angel, I’ve got to show it to you!* It was a reworked piece, but the whole brooch is intact and usable on its own. *I am drooling at the piece and am hoping my SIL can pass it on to me if she no longer wants it… hint hint hehehe*

Ok, necklace aside, I also treated myself to a super cute Louis Vuitton Damier Azur mini pochette. DH asked me, “did you use your 0ther mini pochette?” to which I answered proudly, “not yet.” He thinks it’s a total waste of good money to buy a mini pochette. But what he has not realized is, these little pouches are actually what get the most mileage in my LV collection (practically non existent now, except for the red cherry blossom papillon, and the pink satin pastel glitter cabas. Yup, no more LV bags with me!). If you can only see how battered and abused my camera case is… 😀 And these mini pochettes will eventually take over that camera case. Or I could always use them as coin purses too. I love them, they’re totally cute! And they’re way cheaper than paying for the large Speedy (which I like too *sob* but I think I’d rather get the Mini Lin Speedy!) So anyway, DH, the mini pochettes are not a waste of money. 😀 *justified!!*

So a few days ago, I vaguely mentioned that Christmas came early for this baghag, yes? So now, I am ready to reveal what that Christmas pressie for myself is… Are you all ready?

*And before you pelt me with more rocks, let me say this. I had sold a few of my own bags *and my SOUL hahaha* to pay for this… sniff sniff… But the color was too good to pass up!!!*It’s a 35cm Bleu Brighton Birkin in Clemence leather with silver hardware! (Photo courtesy of my Hermes SA)

So ok, fine. I brag and brag til kingdom come (with debt to boot), but quite honestly, I bought this bag because I’ve graduated from the beautiful blue jean color to this color. I had to sell my 30cm blue jean birkin *gasp* to upgrade to a 35cm (which I find is the right size) and in this color. I had originally wanted sapphire blue, but when I saw it in person, I was quite distraught that the color didn’t have a shade of purple. The bleu brighton however, had that tint of purple I really wanted. I can’t wait to be together with this beauty! *beams some more* Ok enough bragging or I’ll be condemned to bag hell with bugly baggies *scary*.

Ahhh… What a way to end the year– thanks to all those odd jobs that were wonderful and earned great relationships along the way :)! And really, I hope this year ends well for you too (a new bag is always nice, right? If your DH or BF or special someone or family can’t buy you one, save up now and buy one for yourself– it isn’t too late yet! Women of the world, raise your bag!!!).

Barneys New York

Remember the hugely popular Thomas Wylde skull designs? Well, Thomas Wylde is wildly popular again in my book for this baby portabello bag. It has chain straps and still has the skull detail! Silk lining also has skull prints. Priced at US$1,800. I am loving this bag!! Baghags, what are your thoughts on this bag? Do you see yourself carrying it?

Lanvin— the brand that just makes me go oooh aaaah aaaahhh… 🙂 Satin Ludvine Frame bag. *Sigh* why oh why does this bag have to be so expensivo? This delicate lucite framed bag has brown vintage goat handles and that signature Lanvin medallion. I love this bag! It works so well for a night out. But blah, I don’t really want to go out so much anymore. I had an overload of parties a few weeks before, so the rest of the year will be devoted to little get togethers and intimate dinners with close friends *and their kids haha*. But if I had a budget like some of you baghags, I’d buy this bag 🙂 Priced at US$2,230.

Emilio Pucci
Amelie Print velvet medium iron pochette. It’s a teeny tiny pochette that you’d normally like to buy for your little daughter or niece (psst, if you have the money, sure haha). But this would work quite nicely with a solid colored outfit and perfect for that night out with friends. If you dress conservatively, then it’s time to pick a nice small quirky printed bag. This fits the bill, and is already marked down to US$165 from US$235. Not bad at all!

Oh and I got to test drive this beautiful Marc Jacobs tie Blondie bag. I remember blogging about this bag when it first came out. Well guess what, it’s now priced at US$1,295 (from US$1850), and I can tell you that I was so in love with the bag when I touched and carried it. It was really gorgeous. It was a tad bit heavy but it’s not as heavy once you get the hang of it. If it weren’t so much for the soft leather material (which attracts scratches), I would’ve put my money in this bag. Hands down, it was just beautiful and roomy. And the chain strap is removable too!

And oh, oh! There’s a One week only sale at Neiman Marcus! *shriek shriek stampede* Go check that site out too!

Anyway I need some shuteye. This baghag will need to sleep in preparation for a big, bright and early morning tomorrow 🙂 *Sigh* I love my life 😀 *big smile!* Have a good day!!!
