Thebaghag hits San Francisco (and SF hits right back :D)

Yes, I am *still* alive 🙂 There was a pretty strong earthquake this morning that effectively jolted me out of my bed– unscathed *much to the disappointment of many haha*. But boy that really scared me. I have this phobia of earthquakes (and so do the rest of the population of San Francisco).

Thebaghag has arrived San Francisco– exactly five days ago. But no way of checking anything online because 1. No computer. Why I suddenly have internet access, you ask? Well, the answer is this– DH bought me my Christmas pressie– a new MAC! Yup, trust my DH to be Mr. Practical gift- giver 🙂 . I got myself a kickbootie computer that has wayy more *ahem* horsepower than my old thang *I hope my old Mac doesn’t get jelly hehe*. I am sooooo happy!!

Anyyyway, the last few days have been all bonding with the famille. It was much fun, but I think at one point I was beginning to go crazy with all the yelling (imagine them all screaming– in different pitches!). So now that I have my new Mac and internet access, I have promptly come up with an answer to my becoming almost-insane *hehe so much for being Mom of the Year*

The plane ride to San Francisco was actually not so bad. My DKs were all well-behaved, thank goodness. The food was surprisingly better than the ones that were served to me last October (enroute to SF). Dinner consisted of vegetable roll with some seaweed thing (ok, so I’m lousy with words when it comes to food).

Breakfast was pork belly *eeewww fattening!!* but it was definitely different from the average airline breakfast fare.

When we arrived SF, we were so pooped that it took us day 3 to get out of the house. And well, fast forward to today, this was what we did the last two days!

First order of business– we headed to the city. *Sigh* One hundred reasons why I love San Francisco… and this photo is one of them… It was a cold and rainy day. But I didn’t care. I loved the weather– I loooove the cold!!

Banana Republic building (earlier in the afternoon). Nice eh? Apparently Banana Republic now has an outlet in the Great Mall *tsk, gotta check that out!*

Coach is a brand that never pulled me in as one of theirs. I don’t know why, but I guess they never really had any kind of appeal to my bag senses. The bags are nice though.

Now, walking to Hermes? Seeing the building already gave me goosebumps *tsk tsk so pathetic indeed :)* They have a 30cm birkin in fjord leather in dark green with silver hardware. It was not exactly the most beautiful and most eyecatching bag in the store, but hey, it’s a birkin.

Of course my eyes were only reserved for the….BRIGHTON BLUE BIRKIN!!

Finally, my brighton blue taurillon clemence birkin in 35cm and I are together… *sigh dreamily*. I am loooving the color because that brighton blue is already my “black”. It works with everything (almost everything) in my closet. I am really pleased and beaming *braggart!!*.

Other bags include Hermes kellys (which also included a fuchsia 32cm that’s on hold :D). *Drooooooool*

Neiman Marcus was the next stop. Insane! There are all these sales– including the Fendi B Bag in fabric and leather trim (nice!) for something like US$1,085 (from US$1,800+), and a YSL baby maia bag.

Then of course there was another YSL bag that I was eyeing in the past (hobo convertible to a handbag– that black bag on top of the Marc Jacobs Venetia)– and it’s available in black (not my color, but it was quite nice, and I must admit I was considering it).

Ahh the Balenciagas. Just when you thought you can’t possibly like another Balenciaga bag, did Balenciaga come out with the bigger studded ones– and in gold too. And ugh, that color… emerald green… It’s calling out to me… *scream* Someone stop me!!! My DM’s NM card does not deserve abuse *sniff* But again, I have to eat my words. I thought I was not going to like another Balenciaga bag again, but the emerald green city bags really are making me like them again… And sigh, they’re more expensive too (prices start around US$1,800++).

There’s also the Fendi Spy bag– the uber ornate one. I don’t even wanna ask how much. But even if I can afford the bag, I am not getting it. It’s soo not me 😀

Then I went to see an old friend CC, who, rightfully so, is handling the brand with the double C (CC) 😀 Chanel. Another sinful brand for the already broke baghag. Here’s the newest Chanel bag in the 2.55-ish style– the long classic with kisslock compartment in the middle.

There’s a small patent classic in indigo…
The medium Chanel classic (ala 2.55) is priced at US$1,750++ while the small one (in peach) is priced at US$1195+.
(Prices are tax exclusive). They are indeed classics. I was sooo tempted, but thanks to the powers that be, I held on to my wallet *although not my bag sanity* 😀

Gucci
also had a couple of bags that went on sale, although nothing really did it for me.

Outside Neiman, Christmas was really felt by all. Macy’s had a wonderful window display that had real *yes, live* animals up for adoption. It was the cutest thing, and it was causing sidewalk traffic too 🙂

Union Square was positively aglow and beautiful with its tall Christmas tree.

Drat, a visit to Union Square would not really have been complete without Goyard. Alas, by the time we got there, Goyard was already closed 🙁 *sniff* Don’t fret, I will go back and visit old pals there 🙂 *muwahaha I call them old pals now! Social climbing name-dropper indeed!*

Here’s also a look at the Gucci shop window
And before I forget, here’s another “sweet” photo of chocolate ducks from Teuscher. Before I discovered Godiva, I found Teuscher. They are so good, but too damn expensive for a penny pinching hag like me *sniff*.

Ok I gotta park it right here, my internet is SLOW. I made the wrong choice for a service provider this time and the connection sucks. And it’s worse that there’s no WiFi hotspot anywhere near my place *scream*!! But what am I complaining about? At least I got to blog today 🙂

And before I forget, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL BAGHAGS OUT THERE!!!

xx
