The week’s important events *Warning: VERY LONG post :)*

Since I was on a travelog roll, I had to put certain things on hold, like blog about the events I attended last week + this week.  So, sorry if this is a bit much, but I need to bring you up to speed on what’s happening, and I’d hate to have backlog 😀

Last week was the very successful launch party of Kira Plastinina, the “other” baby of “loverofhaute”, Keri Zamora
(oh and she happens to be blissfully pregnant too :D). Anyway, that was my friend Dexter’s and my first time to go to The Establishment. I normally wouldn’t have even gone to night events held at clubs (or whatever they’re called now), but I couldn’t resist because 1. Kira Plastinina’s a really cool brand (it’s Russian and I like all things Russian :D), 2. Keri made time to personally invite me, despite her super hectic schedule arranging the whole event  *hank you for remembering me :)*

We were real early, but the place was already getting packed. It was pink, pink, pink 🙂

Seen at the event were

Mega Magazine’s Sari Yap, stunning as always 🙂

Maricel Laxa- Pangilinan and Inquirer fashion and lifestyle journalist Alex Vergara *I’m a big fan of his work :)*

Glamour girls Priscilla, Divine, Rissa, and Stephanie

Fellow bling lover and jeweller Janina Dizon- Hoschka

The charming Chris Badiola

Dex and I stepped out a bit because I was craving for the gnocco fritto of Puccini (I haven’t gone in sooo long), but we headed back to Keri’s event immediately after the quick “chow”.
There was a fashion show of Kira’s clothes, but unfortunately we were at the very back when the show started, so I had no good photos to share with you peeps 🙁
Managed a shot of Kira before she walked back 🙂 And then this ol’ lady left 🙂 I loved the clothes and I will be doing a little mall trip to Shang Plaza to stock up on those lovely tops I saw from the show 🙂
*Kira Plastinina is available in Megamall and now, in Edsa Shangri- la Plaza Mall*
Also held last week was the press launch of Spanx. Oh My Gawd. Spanx is like a godsend to moms the world over. After you give birth to your first child (and unless you are Heidi Klum or Claudia Schiffer or our very own models here in Manila), your body just doesn’t look *and feel* the same. You need serious reinforcement. And Spanx was really the answer to a lot of women’s prayers– including mine!
At the event, I met the lovely global business development director of Spanx, Misty Elliot. We had a wonderful discussion about the crazy heat in Manila (I was harping about it *haha* while she was just so happy about it, after having experienced an unusually long winter in Atlanta.).
The Spanx product walk- through began after Misty‘s brief introduction about the brand.
Bra-llelujah! The racer-back version– seamless so it won’t even show through your clothes when you’re wearing it! There is a wireless version of this bra too. You can give your “girls” a break by wearing this bra 🙂 *hehehe* I can personally attest to loving this bra. Confession: just a day or two ago, I went to Rustan’s and bought a whole lotta Spanx. This was one of the products I got. 🙂 And I am very happy with it!!
I think that skin- tight half slip is just what I need for when I wear dresses 🙂 *I’m in line for this when it hits Rustan’s*
The hide and sleek slip suit. I also bought the “tank top” version of this one piece suit. Believe me girls, THIS is an investment you have to make!
That suit is what I realllly want. Coupled together with the Bra-llelujah, you end up with the perfect body 😉 I am again, lining up for this one at Rustan’s.
*Sigh* I want their bodiiiiies!!!!

Oh and guess what, MEN can wear Spanx now too 🙂

(Yup, men can now enjoy their drinks and “control” the size of their belly too :D)

After the launch,  I promised myself that I needed Spanx. And I stayed true to my promise because a few days post- Spanx launch, I found myself at Rustan’s trying on all those products!! And I ended up with a $$ bill *Gasp!*  I know, but I obviously believe in their products or I wouldn’t have bought so much *sob now I’m broke… and there goes my food allowance 🙁 haha*  But you know what though, this is really a worthwhile investment because Spanx made me like my body better *yes I have issues with my body– but don’t we all? haha*. At the end of the day, making you like your body is really what counts. It’s all about feeling good about yourself  😉

*Spanx is now available in Rustan’s Department Stores (Makati, Edsa Shangri-la Plaza Mall, and Alabang)*

And the last major event I attended (just this Monday), was the Philippine Daily Inquirer Lifestyle “Face- Off” fashion show, with designers Patrice Ramos Diaz, Ivar Aseron, Joey Samson, and special guest designer Auggie Cordero. At the event, I bumped into
Schu + Myth’s super sexy RubyGan with her boys Martin and Ralph. They’re the sweetest sons, I swear! 🙂
Janine and Teddy Dario 🙂 *whom I ran into tonight at the comedy show*
Metrobank and Toyota’s Cherry Tan- Ty
Cowboy photographer of the night, Daniel Tan 🙂 * Tsk, the hat! :)*
Stylish couple David + Mai Kaufman.
Of course, Tessa *and only Tessa!!* can host Inquirer events like this one 🙂
She wore a dress by Patrice Ramos Diaz, with these bling accents!
I loved it! Tessa acknowledged the ladies who made this, but this baghag’s becoming very forgetful, so someone please enlighten me 🙂 Credit must be given to this!!!
And the show began.  I decided against taking individual shots because we weren’t really in a good spot for photo- taking.
Patrice’s collection
Ivar’s
(I loved his collection. So many pieces I wanted…)
Joey’s
And Auggie’s
It was a well- attended event at the grand ballroom of Marriott Hotel in Newport City.
*On a related note, have you guys been to Resorts World? It is a massive development! Geez, Megaworld’s Kevin Tan wasn’t kidding!*
And lastly, I just watched Jon Santos’ stand- up comedy show, “For Voter or For Worse”, at the Rockwell Power Plant Cinema 2 last night. Let me tell you, it was Hee-la-riiious!!! Jon did uncanny impersonations of Erap, Mommy Dionisia, Bro Mike Velarde (among others). So peeps, if you haven’t watched this show, I HIGHLY recommend watching it! His last showing will be on April 28 at the Rockwell Power Plant Mall Cinema, so try to get tickets as soon as possible!! I never laughed so hard in one evening 🙂
That’s all 🙂
