The Prodigal “daughter” of Louis Vuitton

My week got better as the days went on. Yesterday, I sat down for lunch with ClaudyV, the very able woman behind CV Travel *She’s been responsible for the very smooth family vacations that we’ve been having over the last few years– Egypt, Turkey, Paris, Italy. Try her out!). Anyway, she provided great company over our hour- long lunch and her outlook on life made me stronger and well, better 🙂 Thank you so much, ClaudyV! 🙂
This afternoon, I got me some retail therapy. As you can see on my bag ticker, it has been months *plural* since my last major bag purchase. I mean it’s a friggin’ record! Yes, this baghag, purchase- dry for more than a month? (yeah, that meant this baghag doesn’t deserve to be called a baghag. *Boooooing*)
I’m the prodigal “daughter” of the House that Monogram Built. The temple of money doom, Louis Vuitton 🙂 *hehehe* I had a one- on- one session with the wonderful people at LV. No, it wasn’t some kind of private shopping experience *I’m not VIP– I don’t spend cha- ching cha ching every month at LV*, it was a pre-order for another line that they haven’t officially launched, and I actually have to hold back on discussing it until I get the green light from RDVA. But bottom line, this not-so-little baghag broke her months- long purchase ban 😀 (no, of course I’m not really happy about it because it set me back some cha chings, but I had to confess nonetheless) *Oh Gawd, the suspense. RDVA, allow me to reveal already!!*

Anyway, I had wonderful merienda cena at the boutique, compliments of Sala (hats off to Kerwin for the fantastic pairing), and comforting afternoon tea served in the LV teacup/saucer 😀 *I was thinking, wouldn’t it be nice to take this home– you know, as a souvenir hahaha.. but tsk, I face the fear of being banned here hahaha*

Anyway, I was able to touch the latest Fall ’08 bags up close, and confirmed that they’re just not my type of bags. They just really don’t do anything for me, no matter how hard I tried *hehe I didn’t have to try too hard… you know what they say, if it ain’t calling your name, it ain’t for you*.

But then my eyes darted off to another side of the room, and I saw something that quickly became of interest to me.

The Suhali MajestueuxShe is beautiful. Yes, even in black. I have an aversion to black bags, but this really yanked my heart out of my wallet. But no, I did not walk away with this beauty. She costs Php 170,000 *if I’m not mistaken… sorry if there is a price mistake… my hearing’s already getting bad… hehe getting old :D*. Someone out there with the moolah, this is the bag you should get. It has all the advantages of the LV Batignolles (tote, large enough, not too heavy, secure enough), and it’s not monogrammed like your other bags 😀 Not only that, you get to enjoy the sheer luxury of carrying a Suhali bag (the leather is fantastic) 😉

I was actually lusting for this Damier Azur patch agenda, but I figured, I have so many unused agendas at home, why get another one. It’d be a total waste of money (woohoo Mrs.T is becoming frugal… ey, times are hard these days!!) The agenda is also available at eluxury.com for US$345, or you can always help our economy by making your purchase at Louis Vuitton Greenbelt 4.

While I felt so much better after my brief retail therapy (with nothing to show for until December by the way), I still needed “entertainment” to complete me after what I’ve been through this week. I was supposed to have a quick 6pm dindin with ChrisL but I had an errand I needed to complete for an upcoming project, so we had to chuck the plans and move it to another date. I thought I was gonna have the blues again. Then my other friend called to double check if I was going to show up for the late dinner planned for our old friend Andy who was back in town from London. So, luckily for me, a dinner meeting with my old friends (friends I grew up with) was my “entertainment” for the night *which completed me in the end* 🙂

Dinner was at Little Asia along Tomas Morato (195-B Tomas Morato- Scout Fuentabella
Quezon City. For reservations, call (+632) 373-0609). The restaurant was packed when I arrived. Thank goodness for JoS and her reservation or we wouldn’t have had a table!

I always enjoy Little Asia’s food, especially those salt and pepper squids *drool*. So this was also a gastronomic treat aside from being in good company. Charlemagne, The very generous owner of Little Asia even sent desert my way 🙂 The mango crepe was obviously THIS good for it to be shared by this many people 😉 Of course I did the cutting up of the crepe. That big plate with remaining pieces was FOR ME *muwahahaha… selfish* We were so cheap that we didn’t even want to order another mango crepe hahaha. Ok, truth was, we were already SOOO full. I felt so bloated already after our meal, then the crepe came my way. Tsk, but what the heck, there’s always tomorrow to diet. Psst, I lost 6 lbs when I got sick! *hahaha if I keep mentioning that while continuing to gain all that weight back with all the eating I’ve been doing, I’ll never hear the end of it from my critics hahaha.. Oh well, can’t resist good food!*

Creme Brulee anyone? 🙂 I’m such a freak sometimes *correction, all the time*, I had to cut this up too *hahahaha*. One of our friends ended up eating most of it coz everyone was realllly full.

Our night ended at Cafe Breton where we all had coffee and tea and a good few hours of laughter, stories about which is the best topical pain killer (body ache pain) to use *Gawd, we’re becoming old, you see.. hehe*, and when we will be planning our “trip” together (this so- called trip has not yet materialized by the way– and it’s been yearssss!!).

I’m proud to present to you, my dear friends 😉
I had a fantastic night. I got to vent (so I won’t have repressed feelings hahaha), and we all did a lot of catching up. Finally, I feel so much better again, so energized, and so full of positive thoughts.

Life has a way of surprising us all– and surprise is not always a good thing *sob*. But in times of adversity, I must be grateful that there are those friends who care. Thank you so much, dear friends. And also thanks especially to those who listened when I needed ears.

Quick shoutout to: DOP, LPT, BB, CACL, ML, RG, RDVA, the beautiful women behind StealThatLook and ManilaFashionObserver and to the other peeps here who sent a message/ comment my way during my not-so-cool blue days 🙂

THANK YOU FOR CARING!!!

(Wow I felt like I just won an award or something… Loser of the year, perhaps? LOL)

  1. Mrs.T you never fail to make me smile even if your so down and sad. Your positiveness is what makes you such a great person to be called a friend and I’m sure thats’ why your friends care =)

  2. I think I know what you got from LV. Let me guess…you used the laptop in making your “choice”? And they have to make your bag in Paris which is why you’ll only get it in December? If we’re talking about the same bag, then I’m so excited for you as well! I got mine last month (ordered in London) and it only took 3 weeks to finish the bag!

  3. hi! just wanna ask your bagaholic expertise, i’m planning to purchase my first gucci or first lv bag. which one would you recommend, gucci joy medium boston bag or lv mini lin speedy 30? well, i’m still battling with myself if i’m really going to purchase one considering the amount though i know there are far more expensive bags than these 2. but i really dunno if it’s a wise move, though i really really love bags. and i’ve been dreaming to own one but i’m battling with the practicality of doing such. please enlighten =D me about it. was about to buy one when i was in hk but told myself to think it over. you know what impulse buying can get you into sometimes. i’m actually going back to hk so i’m trying to decide if i’ll do it this time. hehehe…and one more thing is it cheaper here or in hk?…much thanks…looking forward to your reply.
