The Bag Hag goes to town (and parties) :D

I had the pleasure to meet a new mom MC at the Edsa Shangrila Mall. She was hilarious! I loved how we talked about the silly excuses we make to purchase a new bag (tsk, while she uses those excuses to her DH *snicker*, I had to use mine to myself hahaha, and THAT is pathetic *guffaw*!). And oh my Gawd, my theory was proved! LV’s Pandora Speedy bag unleashes the baghag in every woman. Case in point, MC 🙂 Here’s her Balenciaga City next to my Goyard 😀 (that’s MC’s bag, post Speedy 😀 I swear the Speedy really wakes that bag monster in all of us!!) I had a great afternoon– a great merienda cena with a new friend/ bag hag, and also, wheee a new purchase from Tint! I absolutely love ballet flats, and THIS shoe right here, is really what I would call, ballet flats 🙂(Perfect metallic pink, with a little satin bow, and a little suede toe strip just like an en pointe toe shoe :D) They’re so comfy, and priced at a few bucks under Php 3,100.00 (ouch). But I can’t resist a cute pair of ballet flats, a comfy pair at that (did I tell you hags that I am also a shoe fiend? But I don’t have a lot as well, unlike some of you hehehe).

Come nighttime, an embarrassing event took place. I swear, this IS sooo embarrassing. So I promised to attend the Metro/ Metro Him cocktails + fashion show which was held at 6pm in Rustan’s. DH and I did go. But we arrived at 7:40p (the bag hag is perennially late). To our dismay, the peeps were already packing up (and there I thought they were just setting up. I mean, how dense could I be!?). Talk about being UN-fashionably late! Everyone was gone! Metro peeps were gone and nowhere to be found. Then oh Hello! I saw Carlo T, Editor-in-chief of Metro Home and Metro Him. Geez now this has got to be embarrassing. Carlo was like “Everyone WAS here! They’re all gone now!”. Oh drat. I apologized profusely (to no end). Tsk, lesson learned. Never be THAT late for an event. MelC and CarloT did a wonderful job, and there we were, unable to witness it. Tsk (I can be an idiot, I know).

So onto the next event. Louis Vuitton’s Cocktail party. Oh dear, The hyperacidic bag hag can’t drink. Crap. Leaving me two free hands for…. *gulp* credit card, be prepared for some swipe abuse. (But I am holding out for that papillon… be good, be good, No bag. No bag.) Let’s talk party first!

The cocktail party was very well attended, that’s for sure. Lookit all the patrons, loyal attendees themselves carrying LV bags *woohoo*. People were buying, buying, buying! I can hear the cash register ding ding dinging the whole time I was there 😀

There were two hot models wearing LV head to toe, and carrying LV bags as well.

Legal eagles GR with her colleague (ooh carrying Chanel)
Restaurateur-cum-“restaurant ethics professor” *I love it, ethics professor! :D* DjM who accompanied his friend to check out LV’s new lomboks
Bryanboy’s “wife” HannahC with her childhood pal (BB, where are yoooooou? Wish you were here!)

And Mega stylist MichaelS, LV’s Country brand manager RheaDV, and of course, Super! Embassy eventologist TimY.
Meanwhile, poor DH was breaking out in cold sweat *muwahahahaha awwww poor DH* (after all, our wedding anniversary was coming up *guffaw*). There were the Damier Speedy bags in both sizes, (eyyy check out the bags WITH the plastic on handles AND cardboard! *guffaw I can’t stop pointing this detail out*)

LV’s quilted bags and velvet chains bags, and also a vernis perle and the multicolore suede fringes, and ooooh THIS bag me likey likey! A gray suede bag with the LV stamping on the front, and some cutesy zipper charms. Price tag: Php 140,000 (US$2,630).

There were also these cute slides… Tsk tsk. What does a broke and hyperacidic bag hag do inside the House that monogram built? Nothing. Take photos, enjoy the free Evian *guffaw did I stoop THAT low? YES!!!*, and social climb *muwahahaha*. We also met MichaelSL, who is practically a permanent fixture on all weddings that we have attended (he emcees them :D), and is also a bag hag *this is such a pleasant discovery!*– and incidentally, we ran into each other in Dubai during my family’s last trip :).

In the end, I took home with me something that is actually worth paying for. No, it’s not a bag (thank GAWD!!!). It’s the book that tells the whole story of how the House of Louis Vuitton was built. I know our other resident baghag JP has one (I saw it in his photo collection hehe). DH was spared tonight from paying for anything. This bag hag had to pay for bag literature on her own 🙁 *bawl* July 7 is coming… hehe.. and I am waiting for DH to ask me what I want *muwahahaha I will spare him from permanent financial agony, believe me. I’m not that big of a witch hehehe*

Woops look at the time, I am already turning into a pumpkin if I don’t rush off to bed! 🙂 My hyperacidity is kicking in once again, and I hafta find something to munch on *sniff I’ll get fat in nooo time*.

Goodnite hags, or rather, good morning 🙂

P.S. SALE SALE SALE ALERT!!!!

  • Stores Specialist Inc (SSI) will have a sale on its designer brands (selected items) like Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Prada, YSL, Tod’s, Burberry (and more) from July 1 onwards!! Sale actually starts on June 30 for “preferred clients”, but hey, ask for the discount anyway (believe me, I am NOT VIP but I will sneak my way in and say I am *muwahahaha*).
  • ZARA will also have a sale *woohooooo!!*, so skip work (err… ok, only if you have unused leaves haha) and head over there to get first dibs!

P.P.S. As requested, here are more photos of the Chloe Craie Paddington, taken by my seller (and my baghag dear friend, might I add) who is currently Stateside. (Bag is not physically with me, so the seller had to send these photos to Mrs. T :D). Someone on the purse forum brought up the issue that she thought the bag looked fake because it looked stiff. Here’s the reason for that– the seller stuffed the bag for it to “stand” well in the photos, or else it would look all slouchy *as what real paddingtons look like without stuffing :-)*Anyway, my seller also took photos of the corners of the bag, which all have some fairly minor scuffs. This one corner is already the “worst” scuff, which isn’t even so bad.The padlock also has a bit of scuff on the part where the hook of the lock scrapes against the other metal (I think all padlocks have this “problem” so it’s rather normal, since even a new padlock would already have some “scuff”). The bag is overall in very good condition, interior very clean, no noted color transfers on the leather of the bag. So, at that price indicated (US$800— buyer to pay for shipping), it is quite a steal!

  1. Gorgeous ballet slippers! I need to have someone buy those for me in Manila–where exactly is Tint? Thanks! p.s. I found your site through Daphne–I’m enjoying reading your (mis)adventures :).

  2. oh my god. that suede bag, reminds me of a fake bag i just saw a while ago at school.

i was actually schocked that i saw FOUR fake vuittons: a multicolore “alma” without the gold studs, a “theda” in DAMIER [oh yes. DAMIER CANVAS], a fake s/s 05 “runway”[more like runAway.hahaha] bag that looks exactly like this: http://www.vogue.co.uk/ImageLib/320×480/Shows/SS2006/Paris/R-T-W/Louis_Vuitton/Details/00240f.jpg
but in MONOGRAM CANVAS, and a fake neo alligator speedy [i noticed it because of the mismatching zippers (the original ones of th alligator collaction should have colors, but hers had the wapity’s zippers)]
