Spanish Ballet Flats

You’ve heard of London Sole, Repetto, but you have not (and I’m almost certain) heard about Kokua. After googling, I only found one real answer about Kokua, but there was also no address provided.
Anyway, as I found out from the shop keeper, Kokua does not exist online, nor do they have an email address. So your best shot is really to go to the store directly to purchase. The family who owns Kokua has been in the shoe business for over 10 years, and they really know their shoes.
After going through cobblestoned floors in heels back in Florence, my feet were literally in tears because of the pain. Some of my new friends even got blisters on their feet as a result. The only thing I had going for my feet were my sneakers. But even then, my feet were suffering.
We were taking a walk in La Rambla in Barcelona when we decided to go off the main road and onto one of the alleys. And then we discovered this little shoe boutique.

All ballet flats.

No heels of any kind. The shoes come in capped- toe, in suede, in faux python leather, in all calfskin leather, and in all patent leather. No frills, no embellishments.

The store reminded me of Repetto in Paris– a simpler version.

The only difference is, there are no en pointe shoes on the shelves, nor are there any tutus 🙂

Just plenty, plenty, plenty of ballet flats.

It’s a ballet shoe lover’s paradise. And for women with tired feet, this was heaven.

The shop had some of those cute sack- bags as well.

The shoes came in all sizes, and you’ve got a very nice guy named Marc to help you get the shoes 🙂

I wanted these color combinations but they were not available in my size 🙁

Now, they might have these combinations again sometime soon, but well, I’m not in Barcelona to find out 🙁 *waaaah*
These flats are AMAZING! I bought a few pairs for myself and have not regretted the purchases ever since! Now I must, must, must go back to Barcelona again for these shoes because there is really no other way to get them but to go there!  I can’t tell you how to get there either because I am not good with giving directions 🙁 Plus, my bad I didn’t even manage to get the street name. I did a mental note and well, I obviously forgot 🙁 All I remember is, it’s off La Rambla.
But not to fret though, because as I type this, my friend Claudette Vitug who owns CV Travel (+63917 5368545) is arranging for a Spain- Italy trip for either late this year, or mid next year. I have decided I want to join that trip so I will already start saving now :D.
Kokua flats are not expensive at all, they’re under EUR 60 per pair *price depends on what type of leather/ combination is used*– definitely cheaper than Repetto or London Sole 😉
You peeps want to join me for that Spain- Italy trip? 🙂  All for shoes!!! *hehehe*. I’m still a shoe fiend after all 😀

    1.  1 month ago the salesman said shoes could be ordered online but I have not been able to find the website. I hope it is possible soon.

  5. Just returned from a trip to Barcelona where I found this charming little shop. I got a pair in a beautiful bright purple. The shoes are just lovely! Wish I had bought 3 more pairs 🙂

  6. This shop is simply delightful! Would have bought a few pairs more if credit card transactions were accepted. I live so far away in Malaysia, can’t wait for them to go online. Even if they only deliver within the EU, that would be great!

  8. I accidentally found this place also off Las Ramblas. Bought me a pair. I wished I bought two. So many choices of colors.
