Social Call: The Magazine that FLOWed

Last week, I got an invitation from the Firma peeps Ricky Toledo and Chito Vijandre to attend the FLOW Magazine launch and exhibit opening. The lifestyle duo curated the magazine’s 3rd issue. RickyT and ChitoV never disappoint.

The launch was held at Silverlens Gallery at Pasong Tamo Extension. Hmm it’s my second event this month (hehe social butterfly? NOT!). I like FLOW and the creative team behind FLOW, so I decided to Show 🙂 *oh wow, that rhymed! eck cornball…*

Anyway, I invited DH to go with me. He went because I always let him think he knows more art than I *hehehehe… ok that was a joke… we both don’t know peanuts about art, but he sure did raise his oh-so-snooty nose up high hahaha*

Migs Rosales, FLOW Magazine’s brilliant editor-in-chief
A walk down the Malate memory lane… Ricky Toledo with Sala’s ColinMK
My favorite piece by Bruihn… Lulu in Pearls. It has that Jean- Auguste Dominique Ingres (The Odalisque) style with a strong reference to the paintings of the Italian Renaissance. This painting is not for sale, but if it were, I probably wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyway.

Nikki Luna “It is what it is”. I would’ve liked to place this in my old room which had big windows facing the street 😀

Bea Valdes
Juan Caguicla and Ronald Ventura

More interesting works of art
My former Weddings magazine colleague and dear friend JoanS with October Eighty Publisher and CEO CherylF
Ran into my old colleague and Metro Home editor-in-chief CarloT, with TjT. I had to beg CarloT for a job coz the financial well is dry *hehehe ok so I had a little to drink or I wouldn’t have been emboldened to beg haha *

The very fashionable women of Preview Magazine, PaulineSJ and AgooBI stand next to these women and I look like their handmaiden. Always. 😉 *I don’t mind though haha*

Pepper Lunch’s CecileVS and her Stephen Sprouse My craving for steak and rice at Pepper Lunch has not abated, so I decided to pair Pepper Lunch steak with Bikram Yoga. It’s a comfortable *and convenient* marriage so far 😉

It’s Gemma Suzara!!! I adore her! We’ve had plenty good talks about everything *ok, mostly about jewellery haha baaaad*… The last thing we talked about was “blue gold”. (Yes, there is such a thing as blue gold!)

Jewellery designer and artist WynnWynnO whom I haven’t seen in years!
Thebaghag hasn’t been social mountain- climbing in a very loooong time hehehe 🙂 *such a difficult sport it is!!* BUT wait! Is this….???? YES! It’s the old actor, Rustom Padilla, now called BB GandangHari!!!See, I may no longer attend events much and I may not be regularly updated with showbiz news, but this much I know. I know who HE is, that he is now a she, and that she wore makeup tonight. The question is, who did her makeup? I’m no makeup guru, but I think her choice of foundation made her skin tone look rather ashen… Or maybe it’s the lighting of the gallery… Oh I don’t know! But one thing for sure– she is TALL! (On a personal note, I think it must feel liberating to be her. To be able to reveal his.. or rather her true choice of gender. Because she looks really happy :D)

What a fun night it was. I didn’t stay long though (I think we were only there for a good 45 minutes) because I had to run back to Rockwell to proudly walk the dim mall halls alongside Rockwell Security Peeps 😀 This baghag had to go back to work to close shop for the night *before I turn into a pumpkin :D!!*

P.S. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my DH who +1 to his age. Dude, we are seriously one decade (and generation hahaha) apart *see, now you know why we don’t always see eye to eye– hello, generation gap!!! Hahaha… And DH, you may already be an ol’ fart, but you will always be MY ol’ fart 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Much love and kisses!!
