PFW: Nostalgic at Nina Ricci AW 2012- 13

Candles and chandeliers. I saw candles and chandeliers at Nina Ricci before I saw the actual collection.

Peter Copping, the creative director behind Nina Ricci, wanted something a bit nostalgic, quite like when a young girl discovers and explores her mother’s and grandmother’s wardrobe to reveal a treasure trove of pieces which she later deconstructs and reconstructs to make them her own.

It’s all about a more relaxed silhouette.

This is such a fun dress!!!

Tweed. It has been remade and reworked to look younger, newer. I love the necklace! It’s a collection of different rhinestone brooches!

Those opera length gloves with a fur stole attached to it make this piece exude old world glamour.

A back shot of the fur gloves from another look

More tweeds weaved into different fabrics

Soooo girly! I broke out into a huge smile when I saw this cotton candy- colored coat 🙂

Of course that bag had a lot to do with my smile too 🙂

It’s really so girly!! 🙂

Details

Color!!

I like the peekaboo lace detail

And then there were THE BAGS! Oh my, eyes very wide open when this bag came out! It is called La Rue and came in lavender croc and the grained calfskin above (paired with the cotton candy coat). This is really a winner!

The “Smile” clutch is very nice as well. I am loving the hardware detail– the “smile” 🙂

Also available in quilted deerskin

Final walk through

Ok, I am very excited about the Nina Ricci La Rue bag. I think that has to be the highlight of my evening. You know me, bags (oh dear and shoes now) still come first, then everything else follows 🙂
