Partypooper + More TRESORMAKATI bags

I still feel like there is something stuck down my throat (haha it’s my tongue *eeew*), despite having changed medication. In other words, I still feel like crap. There was no point in me popping over some party last night when

1. I can’t really talk much (more so, can’t talk over loud music)
2. Why go to a cocktail party that serves alcoholic beverage when alcohol is off- limits to me til my throat gets better? (hello, acidic) And I will just feel bad that I can’t have what everyone else is having *sniff*
   
3. I have nothing to wear except my Balenciaga dress (hahaha which I have so far worn 6 times to balance out the astronomical cost of that thing with no tag *muwahahaha– I Never forget… coz I am shallloooow*

So there. Three reasons that are (actually not that) good enough not to attend another party tonight. Sheesh. I would actually have loved to attend the Preview party tonight because our fashionista hot momma DaphP is one of the “Best Dressed” women being recognized! Woooohoooo!!! Daph, congratulations!! I’ve said it before and I say it again– you deserve this, because you can turn burlap into some stylish outfit if you wear it. Meanwhile if I wear a sack, I might be mistaken for packed rice and be shipped out to Timbuktu. *Guffaw ain’t that the truth!!* So now the real reason why I’m not attending is because I had already planned dinner for tonight since 1st week of June with D! (who made those awesome DiVa bangles) and some friends for our post- birthday celebration. Drat, I would’ve seriously gone to the Preview party to watch my friend get “awarded” had it not been for the dinner thing tonight. *Sniff*

Looking back, I missed out on another 2 parties– the Mix-Leslie Mobo cocktail party (last June 20), and the day after, the Absolut party. Life has been pretty tame for this bag hag. Thanks really to my *cough poor* health. But right now too, I think I’d have a bit more fun by having a more “intimate” dinner (oh dear, does that show my age already? You are old if… *guffaw*)

So, last night, DH and I decided to try another new restaurant (we’ve decided this is what we will be doing every Friday night, then I’ll do a “review” the day after).

Restaurant of choice: La Grotta, at the AETNA bldg, VA Rufino (formerly Herrera St), Legaspi Village, Makati. Tel. # 894-1320.
We ordered the Four Cheese Pizza and Shell Pasta with scallops, leeks, and crabmeat in tomato sauce.

The shell pasta had its moments on my palate. It was quite good, flavorful, and the pasta was al dente. But the four cheese pizza was lackluster in performance. Being that it IS all- cheese and no tomato base, it was oily (natch!). But the taste of cheese didn’t linger on long enough on my taste buds. I felt that there was not enough cheese used. If it were to be Four cheese pizza, it better be really cheesy (just the way it ought to be). It was not bad, but definitely something we won’t be ordering again.

This restaurant is apparently opened by the former chef and the former manager of L’Opera (hence the similarities which we noticed right away). But L’Opera definitely has better food (hands down). Price- wise, everything is quite reasonable, so we were pretty much getting what we paid for. It was overall not bad, and we would come back again to try the other pasta dishes, but I reckon we will be staying away from the Cheese pizza 😀

Oh whee, another LV party on the 29th (Louis Vuitton Travel Lounge cocktails). Let’s see if I can get my butt up to attend this one this time.

*Hmm… what’s with me today, posting photos of invitations?! Do I really need validation that I can social climb my way to get invited? Muwahahaha you all already know I am an SC bag hag wannabe, so what are the photos for? hahaha*

TRESORMAKATI bags update: Woohoo just got some new bags today. Here are my top picks! (The rest to follow– I will attempt to update TRESOR)

CHANEL black lambskin quilted flap bag with chain straps. This is an offshoot of the original 2.55 style. The bag is in excellent condition, no visible scratches on the exterior leather. Very very slight crease on the quilt area (which I captured on the photo)– I didn’t notice it until the photo came out, but it’s very minor. The interior leather flap has some minor scratches. Measures 8.5″L x 5.5″H x 3″W, and the chain-leather strap can be carried single, with a drop of 20″, and doubled up (to shorten strap) with a drop of 7.5″. It will come complete to buyer with the Chanel box, authenticity card, as well as the dustbag. ASKING PRICE: Php 36,000.

GUCCI brown monogram canvas hobo with wood detail and leather strap. In very good condition. Exterior canvas is clean, leather bottom has some scratches. Leather strap has minimal scratches as well. Interior of bag is very clean. Bag measures 11″L x 11″W x 3.5″W, with the strap drop at 8″. It will come with the original dustbag. ASKING PRICE: Php 26,500.

PRADA beige microfiber bowler satchel with pockets. Microfiber is slightly dirty, but not too obvious. Interior of bag is very clean. Bag comes with lock and keys. Hardware has no tarnish. Measures 13″L x 7.5″H x 4″W, and the shoulder straps measure an 8.5″ drop. Comes with the Prada dustbag and card. ASKING PRICE: Php 21,000.

LOUIS VUITTON monogram looping MM. In very good condition. Bag’s cowhide rolled strap has turned orangey in patina. Hardware has some oxidation. Interior pocket of the bag has some penmarks. Bag measures 10″L x 8.5″H x 4″W and will come with its dustbag. A brand new looping now costs approx 50k. ASKING PRICE: Php 25,000.

Ok, I’m off to get ready for dinner. My throat feels dry again. I swear I’m on the verge of asking for a second opinion. Sigh… Does anyone have this reflux condition and share similar problems as I? *sniff empathy please haha*
