ONDOY FLOOD UPDATE

ONDOY (FABELLA) UPDATE: Thanks to our kind donors (we have contacted some of the individuals who had given money– if you were not yet contacted, please don’t worry, as we really plan to keep money for Fabella) who have agreed to channel their donations to ALAY NG PUSO in Del Pan, Tondo. The orphanage which is run by the sisters of Mother Teresa are the ones in dire need right now, as they are accepting children from the streets who need refuge. So if you would like to give milk bottles, milk formula, diapers, baby clothes *used are ok, as long as they’re clean*, please do let us know– Rea Harrow of Moms for Moms has been organizing this drive (see previous post) and she is likewise coordinating with Fabella (first floor is flooded), so we will be channeling donations to these two institutions. So far, I’ve already disbursed a total of Php 93,000 to Moms for Moms today via BDO account transfer. Rea has been keeping tabs on expenses and what was purchased, so rest assured we will be publishing receipts of everything here, that all will be accounted for 100%. (We now have Php 575,500 balance in our Fabella fund after the transfer to buy goods for Alay ng Puso )
HELP NEEDED: My friends whose houses (1st floors) are submerged in water (all their appliances are good as dead– oven, fridge, etc) are in need to contractors who can help them clean their place. So if you know of any company that does cleaning (that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg– my friends need every single cent, so they want to make sure too that the fees aren’t astronomical), please do let me know. I know no one who does such service, nor do my friends, so your help and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

MY HEALTH UPDATE: On a different note, here’s an update on my health (for those who care to know hahaha… that’s like, one or two of you out there haha). I was just diagnosed by my ENT doctor with FOUR different conditions. I know. FOUR! Here goes: allergic rhinitis, pharynolaryngitis, acute sinusitis, and rhinopharyngitis. HOLYCRAP. I’m like a disease factory! Come to think of it, anyone who saw me at the airport the other day would’ve prayed hard not to sit next to me Hahahaha. Why? Wellll….. lookit me!! (Here’s another photo of Mrs.T without the “heart”!! Muwahahaha(Oye, I was being responsible by wearing that mask!!)

So I’m now back on antibiotics and allergy meds, as well as throat medication. My cocktail hours are held twice a day 😉 Care to join me? Hehehehe. I am not allowed to talk right now, so I guess for once my friends will hear the sound of silence ;). And there I thought I just had acid reflux as a result of having eaten too much spicy food in a span of 3 days.

Later peeps!

  1. Mrs.T, you should be resting. Having no voice with all those problems in your body can cause you to lose your voice completely. Don’t take the chance of that to happen. Rest rest rest or you will end up in the emergency room of a hospital. I’m serious here your conditions are no joke.

  2. Hi, Mrs. T!

    Sorry to hear about your situation and i’m praying for your speedy recovery. Do take time to rest and just let your blog do the talking for you 🙂

    Your friends should try and contact junk shops, I know they will be more than willing to pick-up all the rubbish. There’s a house here in our village (behind CSA) who’s basement got flooded and I think the village personnel helped them get rid of all the furnitures and appliances ruined during the typhoon.

    Hope i was of help! 🙂

  3. @ Yvonne: Thanks for the concern, and more importantly, thanks for the tips! Ill try to check out some junk shops for her and see how that will work out. I guess too that volunteerwork is really what she can request from us friends when it comes to cleaning because Im sure those cleaning agencies are charging an arm and a leg. 🙁

    @ PBB: VitC yes. Rest= night only. Have so much to do 🙁 The worst part is, DK is also sick now with fever 🙁 Went up to 40 degrees tonight 🙁

    @appledumplings: Thanks dear! Take care!

    @ Therese: I know 🙁 I do need rest but then I’m really ok, I just can’t talk. Since I can’t really volunteer to repack (I have to wear a mask and that would look insensitive, right), I am just busying myself with making purchases for relief goods. That’s the best I can do for now 🙁 Hopefully I’ll have my voice back in a few days to be able to get some real work done with the other volunteers.
