New York Fashion Week Contest: Fashiolista x MissKL |

Hello from very chilly Paris! Here’s a quick update on what’s happening with yours truly online– so I was pre-selected to take part in the New York Fashion Week collaboration with MissKL x Fashiolista contest. I was asked to post my “outfit of the day”/ look in Fashiolista and along with other contestants, we are supposed to garner votes for our looks and the one with the most votes will win a ticket to New York for NYFW– along with a random voter who had chosen my look

Anyway, peeps you know I was never a style blogger but I thought the contest was a fun thing to join– it’s also very interesting because a voter of mine gets to go with me to attend some shows during New York Fashion Week

The look I chose for this particular contest has a story, actually. It was a photo that my sister-in-law had taken on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon when I went to my brother’s place for lunch. It’s a look that you have probably seen on my instagram feed at some point in November 2012.

It took me all of 5 minutes to pull together the look– I was in a rush because (as always) I was late for lunch. I found this “dress” at the back of my closet. Truth it be told it was a knit top *not a dress* by Stefanel (I bought this with my sister-in-law in Milan at Stefanel nearly 3 years ago). Unfortunately I kept this top on a hanger for nearly 2 years in my closet– yes, 2 years. So gravity took its toll on this top and well, the result is, voila, a dress was born *haha*! I paired it with a pair of gold strappy wedges from Miu Miu, and with my favorite leopard print pony hair Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily bag. My sunnies are by Giorgio Armani. I also wore this gold wreath- style hairband because my long hair was all over the place.
