New Restaurant Alert: 210° Kitchen and Drinkery in BGC, Manila

Wow, it has been quite some time since I wrote a blog post about a restaurant in the Philippines! But tonight I was actually excited to go home early because I wanted to write about this new place I just went to for dinner. There is a new French bistrot and drinkery in town– specifically in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

Called 210° (210 degrees), this laid- back eatery with a refreshingly unpretentious ambiance serves Michelin- star worthy dishes that left my mouth gaping in amazement with each bite.

But I honestly shouldn’t really be surprised, because at the helm of the kitchen is 2- Michelin Star- decorated French- Basque chef William Mahi.

I have already been a fan of Mahi from his days at the Tasting Room in City of Dreams. I was sooo disappointed when he left his kitchen at Tasting Room, but shortly after his departure from that stint, he had apparently privately made the decision to fulfill his dreams with his lovely wife Heather by settling down in Manila and by finally putting up their own restaurant in our city!

And after months of planning, 210° Kitchen and Drinkery is the golden fruit of their labor! Food lovers like me could not have been happier. They began operations (soft opening) last night, and natch this perennially hungry chick *heh me!* had to have that much- awaited meal.

You must try the 36-hour marinated salmon

with the heaven-on-your- lips mashed potatoes (haha sorry I dug into it already so no photo), and *OMG* ALL 3 desserts (yuuup, all gone before I realized I forgot to take photos– you know the food’s good when you take a small bite 1st and don’t stop after lol)! Special mention goes to the tarte tatin– when I bit into it, I was immediately transported back to one of the little brasseries I frequented on Ile Saint Louis in Paris. I had at that very moment wanted to thank Chef William, but he was busy in the open kitchen, personally preparing and overseeing each dish with his team. Oh and did I mention the pre- dinner cocktails were delicious?

The wine selection was excellent as well!

Finally, a smart- casual bistrot in Manila (BGC) that serves authentic and affordable French cuisine (two adjectives that I would never have otherwise used in one sentence unless such were true).

I felt like I was having my meal in Paris and I really enjoyed every bite plus the overall dining experience. The food deserves high accolades!

I will definitely be back again this weekend– so don’t be surprised if you see me trying out the other dishes. Haha and don’t forget to say hi 🙂

210° Kitchen and Drinkery is located on the Ground Floor of Icon Plaza, 25th street, corner 6th avenue in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Reserve fast and early though, because seating is limited (due to very strict food quality control).

Congratulations Chef William Mahi + Mrs. Heather Mahi and to the wonderful team of 210°! See you all soonest!
