Monday Morning Bag Review

Father’s day weekend went fairly well. It began with a package I received from baghag JY. Ohmygoodness! She knew where to hit the spot! Don’t really know how you found out girl, but I actually LOVE mangoes. Dried, green, yellow, “liquefied”… hehehe anything Mangoes! This was a real fancy treat, post birthday! And lookie at the packaging it came along in, hags! JY tells me that they support this local industry that makes these juice foil packaging into bags, and it is amazing– I mean, I was staring at the workmanship (stitching), and it was done real well! THANK YOU Ms.JY! I Love it!!!

Next on the agenda was a lunch at Gloriamaris (Greenbelt2) to celebrate the christening of my friend AK’s baby boy. When I went to the area, I was surprised that Greenbelt 1 is no longer there– I mean, the old place is not there anymore. (Goes to show how long I’ve NOT been out to this side of the city *hehehe*)

Apres lunch, I met up with two baghags, Ms.J and her sister Ms.MS. I am sooo happy to meet these girls! Lookie lookie what bags they have! (I used my Goyard white croisiere35). Ms.J had a nice, new LV monogram Speedy 30 (she mentioned she is not really into bags– YET! Girl, that Pandora’s bag will MAKE YOU a serious bag hag, and I am telling you, there is NO turning back hahaha). And of course Ms.MS has a Goyard fidji in black!! I’m SOOO happy to meet another Goyard convert 😀 We had an extensive discussion about bags, bags, and hahaa, me being broke *sigh yet another indication that I am sooo self- centered tsk. Time to change… New Year’s resolution list begins today :D* And today, I start my day with NeimanMarcus.com *hehehe*– We just never seem to get tired of looking at this site!

YSL MaiaI blogged about this bag about 3x already. And it keeps coming back to haunt me. I know this bag is heavy. I have tried it a few times already. I like the straw weave version of the bag, but I know paying US$1,995 for it is not justified. And what is it these days with bag prices at this range? Just awhile back, I mentioned that a good bag already costs US$1,200… And now, it’s suddenly in the US$1,800 range! Sigh… I think this bag is worth a fourth look. Greenbelt 4’s YSL boutique has this bag. Sigh, and I really like it. Hmmm… (Oh stop! You all know I am broke now *bawl*)

Bottega Woven tote
Bottega’s Tomas Maier does it again with this new version of the Cabas, with antiqued golden hardware, buckled shoulder straps, and a hanging key charm. Not bad! I do prefer the more classic cabas somehow (less hardware= lighter), but this is quite an interesting change. Priced at US$2,650.

Henry BeguelinI am loving this designer. First, the leather jigsaw bag which just cost wayyy too much, but was a pretty quirky statement tote, and now this. The Nuage tote seems sooo soft and buttery to the touch, that it makes me want to actually go to Neiman Marcus just to feel this bag (oh don’t I wish!). Priced at US$1295, this bag is one to watch out for.

Prada
Ahh it’s been awhile since I last posted something about Prada (apart from the continued Royal mentions about this brand). Now THIS bag is something that I may just consider getting! Hello, 1. it’s a black bag (and I don’t really own a black bag), and 2. it’s got a shoulder strap and top handles! I am liking this bag. For some reason it reminds me briefly of the Lanvin Kansas tote (which I sorely regretted not getting in HK). The only problem is of course, the price (what else is new) at US$1,550. I will just wait for this bag at our local Prada boutique. Neiman won’t have it out til October, so that gives me ample time to save *muwahaha*.

Alrighty, it’s time for me to quit posting. Full schedule ahead. I have 2 baghags who’ve been waiting for their bags, and I am ready to send out 😀
