Milan Fashion Week FW 2014: Day One!

Wow, it is a dreadful and dreary day in Milan today with the rain pouring nonstop. Sure puts a damper on a lot of things– including figuring out which shoes to wear (haha wow what a dilemma! NOT). On a serious note, today marks the beginning of Fashion Week in the Italian city and rain is not really going to help with the traffic situation. This is my second season to film for The Bag Hag Diaries on Star World, and apologies if we still can’t put the shows up online as the season is still ongoing. But promise as soon as it’s over, we will be uploading them for you all to watch 🙂

The invitations have begun trickling in, and you see, the thing about coming to Milan Fashion Week for shows is, you don’t exactly know which shows you will get invited to, so for peeps who are not in the traditional media (cough me for example), it can be quite a gamble to “pop over” to Milan without getting confirmation from brands that you are invited. Haha I can’t imagine coming to Milan and not going to shows, although this much I can tell you– I don’t get invited to a lot of shows (Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Pucci to name a few), but it’s all good in the end, because while the “job” looks so glamorous and fun from the outside, there is really a LOT of work entailed in covering these shows, and especially now that I am crossing over to different media platforms in terms of coverage.

As of yesterday, I received these sets of invitations,

and the shows and presentations per day range from 5 to 8, not including the after show parties and such. Ahhh, I look forward to a nice vacation after, but for now, I am gearing myself up to attend as much as I can so that I can provide good and extensive material for you all to look at and to see 🙂

For now, it’s time for me to get ready and head on out for the first show of the season, Gucci 🙂
