MFW: Joan of Arc Glam at Versace, AW2012-13

From the seashells and pastels, now come the dark, femme bot- like sexiness at Versace. Pat McGrath really worked her magic on the models. I love this “dark” look as I think it really suits the theme of the collection.
I had a bit of a hard time taking good, crisp photos so please bear with these ones. The lighting changed throughout the show, and I work on manual setting with manual focus all the time, so this posed quite a challenge. What’s great about this is, I think the clothes themselves do challenge the human body as well. The collection was very innovative with the fusion of leather, fabric, pailettes, mohair, and metal. There was also the icon of the cross on a lot of the pieces 🙂
Here are excerpts from the collection– the glamorous almost- gothic femme– bot meets Joan of Arc!
Latticework

This reminded me of one of Gianni Versace’s earlier designs back in the 90s.

So sexy

She really resembles a femme bot = female robot 🙂

Corsetry figured in this collection. It was all about cinching it in the waist.

Long gown details

Look at the details on the bodice!!

The Joan of Arc jacket

I love Donatella for not forgetting to add color into the collection 🙂

Hope you enjoyed looking through bits of the collection!
