HK travelog II: More eye candy!!

OK this is soo me. My meal consisted of sushi and sashimi. I would blow off a week’s meal allowance just to have decent sushi at this country (actually everywhere in this town– you can get decent sushi). Even if my sushi came from Park and Shop or City Super. 😀

Amaebi (raw sweet shrimp), Minced toro (raw fatty tuna), Uni (raw sea urchin), and Kaiware (Japanese bean sprouts which are very hard to find in Manila). The meal was made even better with the Kaiware. I’ve missed eating Kaiware. Could not find it in Manila 🙁

Ok let me now continue to talk shop 🙂 It was yet another beautiful day in Hong Kong. What made me think HK was raining?! (Tsk, count on wunderground.com to give accurate weather info hehe).

Tod’s
— I have never owned a Tod’s bag. Ever. So I just went in to browse. I think the cutest one they have for a bag was the lime green D bag a few seasons ago. I never saw that again, but it was real nice. The bags they have now are just not me, though these bags are quite cute.

Oooh Benefit is in Hong Kong’s Facesss.
Maxmara
— Heyyy those metallic cage shoes remind me of my own metallic pink shoes that I bought at the now defunct Twinky Tabs (Market!Market!) for what, Php 800 (or was it Php 400). Time to bring those shoes out again. Speaking of metallics, I still see metallics everywhere– on shoes, on bags. So it’s still safe to use those metallics. 🙂 *Oooh and in anticipation of course, of the LV Mirroire collection :D*

Mulberry— Ahhh now this brand is one that I am actually beginning to like. Thanks to BB’s photo of Kate Moss carrying the Bayswater bag, I am seriously contemplating on owning one (a plain one– none of that embellishment or extra details). Ugh, don’t you just hate it when celebs carry the bag and it looks soo good on them that it makes you want one too? This is what pains me the most– how come when I carry the same bag, I *STILL* look like trailer trash and not a celeb?! Muwahahaha, why, why, why??? *big guffaw*

Giorgio Armani— See, even these designers are dipping their hands into other industries– hello, floral shop?! Armani Fiore! Do those flowers come with a tag that says “Armani, made in Italy” ? *snicker* I was tempted to call DH and ask for “Armani flowers” for Christmas *hello, high maintenance wife here, dingding!! :D*. I wonder what he’d say *if he didn’t faint yet hehe* (yeah, pay for flowers you can get at HK’s Dangwa and charge designer prices 😀 Now THAT’s a lucrative business to get into! Say! Didn’t HK Taipan Li Ka Shing make his money in the floral business? *hmm… thoughts to ponder hehe*)

Came nighttime, my friend RA and I found ourselves in Causeway Bay (Sogo intersection). I just had to have those $7 foodsticks (RA shuddered when I ate some *hahaha can’t help it, it’s sooo yummy!*).

Oh and lookit those sweets! (Ugh, a moment on your lips, forever on your hips!!) I can only dream of having them. Hello, I fear my waistline has expanded in the short time that I’m in Hong Kong– and all that walking did not do anything for my body (my wallet, yes. My body, no. hehehe)

We passed by Milan Station to ogle at some colorful birkins and a kelly (one in cyclamen epsom, the other in chartreuse togo, and the bluejean kelly in clemence).
We also made a special stop at Lee Gardens to checkout Hermes, where I got offered a 35cm gold togo leather Kelly, and a 25cm orange chevre birkin! Holy geez, the 25cm birkin is SO SMALL! This reminded me of my friend AU who had mentioned that her friend’s husband bought their 8 year old daughter a 25cm birkin (DANG adopt me adopt me!!!!) *SHOCK*. I know, I know. I mean, first of all, WOW! I am at a loss for words…. a 25cm Hermes birkin for an 8 year old girl! Boy do bag hags start younger and younger! While I am in awe that an 8 year old gets to tote a 25cm birkin, I can’t help but feel that… well, it’s rather still too much to give a little girl… (unless Daddy is Donald Trump hehe, but even so…) *OK FINE I AM JEALOUS! No.. make that GREEN and DROOLING with ENVY hehehe* Anyway, I did the good deed and turned both bags down. Not because I was jaded, but because, truth is I just can’t afford it. No paycheck= no loot. And I still had no paycheck *bawl*. Though even after I had my paycheck, I still won’t be able to pay for that bag (hehehe unless I pawn DH’s car… hehehe JOKING!!! I’m not THAT weevil *cough YET*).

Later, in one of the smaller boutiques in the area, we found this cute shop that sold this waterproofed floral “Botkier-like” designed bag. It’s rather cute, quite frankly. But no, we didn’t buy it 😀

Time just whizzed by and soon, I found myself back at the train, heading toward the airport. I miss my family so much already, and could not wait to be back in Manila actually. As I passed by this scenery, I couldn’t help but wish I had some moolah to buy a small condo unit in that apartment cluster beside the water and the track stadium. Beside that is a community pool too. But tsk, where pray tell will I get HK$7,000,000? Can you believe it, a small flat *by small, I mean REAL small* already costs that much? I shudder to think how much a “house” in Hong Kong costs! Now you hags now where the “real” taitais live 😀 They certainly don’t stay in these condo clusters such as the photo I had posted above. No siree. No communal pools for these ladies. They stay in beautifully furnished, strategically located, uber posh condominiums at The Peak, or have houses in Stanley area, and have chauffeurs for their Rolls RoyceS (plural). *envy envy envy woowoowoo!! I just wanna be a handmaiden!!!*

Anyyyyway, at the airport, there was of course, Fendi. Tsk, those Fendi B Bags are not really movers in the store. Which reminds me, the 2nd crop of “IT” bags (Fendi B Bag, Dior Gaucho) did not achieve that same kind of “lust-for” status as those of the Balenciaga motorcycle bags, Chloe Paddingtons, Fendi Spys… And oh, oh, forgot to mention, I spied a Chloe Edith bag (finally!) at Lane Crawford! 🙂

Chanel— would you check out that plum lambskin 2.55? My eyes almost popped out when I saw it. It’s gorgeous!!!!! There were also new suede reissue 2.55 bags available. But ah well, you know how I feel about suede 😀 High maintenance!!

OK… enough talk tonight. Tomorrow I’ll show the loot. And don’t be expecting lots, ok? It’s not much to ogle at.

P.S. Happy birthday to legal eagle CL’s little babe Chip who turned 1 year old today. We went to the tot’s party and it was soo much fun!! 😀

  1. I’ve always wondered, what makes a bag an “IT” bag?? Does a stylish icon or celebrity have to be seen with it first, or what’s the routine?

  2. BB: now you see what you have done, you made me regret not getting this so i can parade it around in front of you 😀 *hehehe and I know, i will suffer the brunt of your spit hehehee* *smoochies*

patrickkk: im telling you if you saw that plum in person, you’d die too 😀

charisse: not necessarily. celebs often get spotted with different bags. only a few bags make it and become “it”. if there is no public clamour for the bag, then there is no wow factor even if some hot celeb carries it.

  3. could you please help me…. i have an old LV and Chanel bag and the lining is seriously sticking all over the place and peeling like crazy… is there some way to have this repaired….

  4. hi mrs t! just wondering — how much will a chanel 2.55 set me back? is it safe to buy a white one (does it get dirty easily?) or should i stick with black? thanks!

  5. Indeed HK is the best place to shop. I think one of the best in Asia. Love Causeway Bay too. I used to walk from Central to Causeway Bay before. Crazy me. Haha.
