Hermes bids Gaultier goodbye after S/S2011

Previous rumours of Jean- Paul Gaultier leaving Hermes were finally confirmed yesterday (or wait, the day before), when the company finally confirmed Gaultier’s departure which will take effect after his last S/S2011 collection (everyone’s excited for this last Gaultier- Hermes collection!!) for the brand.
Taking his place as artistic director for the womenswear line is Lacoste designer Christophe Lemaire.  *Remember that name, peeps :D*
I am saddened by Gaultier’s departure (he is brilliant!), but excited as well for Lemaire’s arrival. I can’t wait to see what he will be adding to the company’s leather handbag division.  🙂 *Ok. I have to be optimistic despite what other peeps feel about this piece of news– I don’t want to pre-judge him :D*
Before I end this short post, I must add that we have Gaultier to thank for these.
Oh and that shadow birkin too 😀

With Lemaire’s impending arrival, Hermes bag hags, are you excited?

Happy Weekend, everyone!!

P.S. On a similar Hermes note, I saw another Victoria (yes, not Lady Becks!)– Victoria Silvstedt, carrying her birkin, and at first glance, I actually thought she was carrying a Longchamp le pliage tote!
Did anyone feel the same way (at 1st glance only)? 😀
Here’s another look
