Happy 2014!!!

Hey everyone! It has been quite a ride, 2013, and I’m happy that it ended on a high note for me. I hope that was also the case for all of you 🙂 The last few weeks of the year have seen me absent from this blog and it is because I’ve been spending a great deal of time with family. Shortly after Christmas, my 100 year old paternal grandmother passed away peacefully, and while it was difficult for my family, it was also a time for us to reflect back on her 100 years of life and celebrate because she had been able to witness so many milestones not just for her family members (kids, grandkids, great grandkids), but also for this world (radio, betamax, vhs, laser disc, vcd, dvd, and the internet and the age of Apple and Steve Jobs) 😀

My New Year’s Eve was celebrated with my children and brother’s children and sister-in-law here in San Francisco, but absent were the rest of our families who had to fly back for my grandmum’s funeral. It was not a complete New Year celebration, but thankfully too I had wonderful friends who came to San Francisco to celebrate it, and they ended up being my family (Steve, Olive, Ken, Bryan, David, Bea, Jean– thank you, it was an amazing end to 2013).

I ended 2013 peacefully by making amends with myself– and in the process also make amends with people whose relationships with me became rather rusty in the last year or so as we drifted apart due to differences in opinion and in values. I figured there was no other way to end the year than to tie loose ends and though difficult as this way to do for me (and I’m sure for a lot of you who were also at some point in the same predicament as I), it was the best thing and the right thing to do. So I did it, and it made me feel good, and lighter for 2014 🙂

I hope you were also able to do the same thing– as I had posted a note about that on instagram, and was happy that many have also related to that message. Anyway, in a few days’ time, I will be back on the blog, churning out better content for you this year. I realize I had been remiss over the last few months also because I had been concentrating on my other “baby” ,my video blog show for Star World– The Bag Hag Diaries. It had been an intense year, 2013! And I am looking forward to another stellar year for 2014 🙂

Give me a few more days to enjoy spending quality time with family before I come back full speed ahead on the blog 🙂 In the meantime, please do enjoy my instagram posts on both @Thebaghag and @Thebaghagdiaries 🙂

HAPPY  2014 from San Francisco, everyone!!
