Hale Bob Exclusive Sales Event

Hi baghags! Long time no post! Yeah, I decided to take a little break, seeing I believe I deserved one already. Guess what happened yesterday? I had a mini baghag reunion with MG at the Enterprise Center. Funny thing was, we got so caught up with the chitchat that well, I didn’t realize there was gonna be a fire drill. YIKES, thank goodness no flight of stairs for this baghag or I’ll probably the one being rescued by the firefighters *muwahaha hello I DON’T exercise*.

Yesterday afternoon, I accompanied DM to this event at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. It’s the HaleBob exclusive sales event. HaleBob clothing has been featured in a few international magazines, and were seen on Hollywood celebs like Jessica Simpson, Vivica Fox, Jessica Alba, Leelee Sobieski. So it was a must-see. I have heard of their clothes, but well, you all know I’m sooo not a clothes horse, right?

I ran into baghag Ms.S at the event, and she was so *woohoo* carrying her beautiful silver Chanel 2.55 reissue! Looove it!!

The clothes are very feminine, there was a lot of detail in each piece. Beadwork involved (so boho), as well as the use of lace (very romantic). There were dresses, tops, bolero jackets, and tunics. It’s a must-go to event. So if you happen to be in the area of Wack Wack- Mandaluyong City, you might want to pass by. It’s being held at the Westside Grill inside the country club and the sales event will be on until 7pm tonight. For more information, you may contact tel. 373-1188 or email peridou_inc@yahoo.com

Ok now for some real stuffffff… I rarely read the paper these days (well I don’t really have the paper, so there haha), but the odd time I did read it, I read up on this exclusive interview with Christian Louboutin. I love his shoes, but boy are they sky high (I mean not just the heels, I also mean the price haha). Well, I had to read about him anyway. He is one of the shoe greats of our time. I HAD to post this newspaper article photo because I thought of our “grammar nazi” as BB coined him/her.

It’s rather sad to have an exclusive story (interview) with Christian Louboutin and then not get the spelling of his name right. Eeps. The bottom line read “Chritan Loubotin”. I can’t imagine promising the designer a copy of the article when it gets published. This particular photo post is just for my in-house grammar nazi *who lurks around here and makes a point to single out MY grammatical errors hahaha*. The author wrote “the designer is now one of the most famous- and most mispronounced- names in the fashion industry.” I think she can also add “one of the most misspelled” on that list too 😀 But I do know for a fact that this is not the first time someone misspelled Louboutin. Those 2 “U”s can be a bit confusing sometimes. Overall though, the article was well written and it did present readers a fair amount of information about the shoe designer. I quite liked it, except for that spelling error which still sticks like a sore thumb. Bah well, we are allowed to make mistakes. Problem is sometimes we take it way too personally when we get corrected (People can be sooo quick to assume that being corrected is like a personal attack on their character when it’s not so). Ahh but what to do 😀 *shrugs* We shouldn’t be defensive about our little insecurities (going ballistic over that just makes us plain losers and validates that we have no self-esteem *hello, I’ve been there myself*. I’ve learned in the end, that I should maintain my silence when someone lashes out at me and think, maybe the comment’s meant in a constructive way *even if it probably isn’t haha ouch*. But ahh isn’t it still hard because your ego is bruised severely? *Gets? hehe*)– in reality, our little insecurities are what makes us, US. They make us real! *Wow, is that an epiphany or what?!* (No, I am not biatching today and I am not PMS-ing… anymore). Anyway, yesterday’s news will remain yesterday’s news. But those who caught that article, it was interesting. (And dang!! Nice shoes!)

Woops, I need to get offline again, I have another thingie to go to today, and I need to get dressed. I had a meeting a bit ago and met up with interior designer CVG. Something’s cooking 😀 …..

Bag-wise, I chose to just put on whatever shirt I found in my closet. But I took the LV Miroir Speedy out for another spin 😀

Have a good weekend, hags!!

P.S. Thanks soooo much CPP for the gift! Looove the bracelet! And also, to EAI— you know I love food and you just HAD to give me more to eat *trying to plump me up, eh?*. Speaking of food, I made this shitake mushroom tapenade-ish angel hair pasta. ( I know it doesn’t look good, but it’s got a kick to the taste hehe). I will share the recipe one day *what am I now, Little Miss Suzy Homemaker? hahahaha I just MIGHT be her :D*!!

xx

  1. honestly girl, your LV Mirroir Speedy is more FAB than that silver chanel 2.55. i soooooooo want one but out of stock!!!!! Grrrr!!!!

  2. I love it when Hale Bob goes on sale @ the Macy’s here. I do have a hard time matching them with bottoms. I have to wear solid colored bottoms, but find it rather hard pairing them with stripes! I won’t try…..and that Miroir Speedy is gorgeous!

  3. hey. i love that red dress up there near the halebob poster. its so nice.

oh yea, i like to ask you something since you seem like you’ve had your share of manila. where is a good place to get my hair done as in like cut, colored, etc?… and ooh my whole family is flying to manila in june or july to celebrate my graduation party. we want to throw a somewhat sit down dinner party at a restaurant for about 50 people. attire is formal not too formal but like cocktail formal. do you know of any good place? … i prefer chinese but it doesnt really matter.

  4. Hi Mrs. T! Any reunion with you is fun…even one in the middle of a fire drill! And by the way, you don’t need the exercise…you are sooooo thin!!!

  5. Hi Mrs. T!

I’m the author of the Christian Louboutin article, and my friend sent me a link to your blog, telling me to check it out. I was not aware of this also and it absolutely horrifies me to see that typo, which was not part of what I wrote. You’re right.. it pains me to have to mail a copy of this to his PR manager and I don’t know if I should do it. 🙁 I study all the way in Boston and haven’t even seen the actual article (I just email it to my editor), so thank you so much for pointing this out. I already contacted her and she said she will talk to the copy editor about it. Our apologies!

I’m glad you found it interesting 🙂

  6. To the Louboutin story author: Yes! Indeed I found the article very interesting. And I’m sure you must’ve been mortified seeing the spelling error. Do more exclusives 🙂 And yeah someone should flog the copy editor haha. That’s a pretty serious faux pas! Kudos though for bagging the exclusive !

mg: I LOOK thin. Underneath all that loose clothing, is layers of fat 🙂

loida: oooh how exciting and congratulations! dinner for about 50 people not too formal and chinese? I’d say try Summer Palace of Edsa Shangrila Hotel. OR better yet, the CHinese restaurant at the New Hyatt Hotel in Manila. Super good food! Haircut/ color= try the salon at Shangrila Mall called STUDIO 546 at the 5th floor of the Mall, owned by the Religioso sisters Yvette and Chalk. They have awesome pedicures too :)And moderately priced for excellent service!

charisse: I couldnt agree with you more. I love the colorful prints of HaleBob but they seem so hard to match. I go with the uber safe– with jeans 🙂

fa: I love the 2.55 reissue in metallic too, but thats coz I dont have one hahaha 🙂
