From high end to low end… the thrills of my life :)

Oh oh oh! But I MUST add this piece to my “if I can buy all the bags I want” list. This isn’t really a bag, something that you can’t tote to work or to the mall. Unless you want to lug the big piece around which is fine too hehe.

Hags, I present to you, Goyard’s jewelry “trunk”! Initially, I dared not even ask for the price coz I might just a. faint, or b. squander off the kids’ education plan to buy this beauty. I would loooove to have this “trunk”. I wouldn’t really put fine jewelry in there because if I had afforded myself that trunk to begin with, what would be left in my pot of money to buy real jewels? *Guffaw guffaw*. So instead, I am going to stock that trunk with the goodies I got from my friend D! Luxe, and other cool accessories that I had accummulated in bulk (ahem hoarder!!) *which I have never really worn yet haha* from my travels 🙂

I think what this trunk needs is wheels 🙂 Make it more “transportable” hehe (if there is such a word even). I loove looove loooove this trunk! SOMEONE OUT THERE NEEDS THIS TRUNK!! It’s practically a “walking” jewelry boutique, with all those trays! Sigh, it’s today that I wish I was indeed a millionairess hehe 😀 Ok, ok here’s the price on this baby (and note, it’s not for the faint hearted *shock*). It’s US$14,000!!! *Faints*

Ahh… well if one can’t afford an uber expensive bag/trunk, the best way to drown sorrows is to eat! 🙂 And last night we decided to brave the rain and have dinner at Som’s. Som’s is a small cafeteria *al fresco hehe* (actually it’s more like a canteen, no?) just off Rockwell’s Power Plant Mall. If you know how to take the road from Rockwell to Makati Avenue, you will be passing by Som’s (although you won’t really see it since it’s located behind the metal fencing of the main Rockwell road near Congo Grill *or is it Grilla*). Som’s is also 2 steps away from that Flamenco place off Rockwell. I think if you ask the Bel-air guards, they’ll be able to point you to that place.

We got there at 8pm and was able to secure a romantic table for 2 🙂 *Our table was on concrete footing, as opposed to our neighbor’s table, which was on hard soil hehe.* The table was by the side of the road, and we were sheltered from the sporadic drizzles by a huge umbrella. We ordered Tom Yum Soup, then had the ginger chicken and the red curry beef. We ate these with an order of bagoong (shrimp paste) rice and a plate of white rice. I also ordered Thai iced tea, which is a perennial fave of mine. The food was not served in spectacular “five star” style, but it was good enough for my hungry stomach *cough and for someone seriously lacking in the financial department at the moment hahaha– me*. I can actually afford to pay for this meal, which only ended up costing us Php 461 (US$10). For this price, I will definitely go back to Som’s again. I prefer to eat here than in their newly opened restaurant at Nicanor Garcia. I like the “ambiance” of this place better! Besides, I had so much fun eating under the umbrella while it rained 🙂 *Ahh to enjoy life’s little pleasures!!*.

From high end (dreaming of owning a US$14,000 trunk), to low end (a fulfilling US$10 meal), this baghag is happy, and saaa-tissss-fied 🙂 Hopefully one day, I’ll be big time and I won’t wince when I pay for a $14k trunk, but til that day comes, I am and will always be happy with the cheaper thrills in life! Ogle at the trunk and try out Som’s 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend, peeps!!
