I can’t believe how close the date of Chinese New Year is this 2014 to the actual new year. It’s like the festivities just don’t end, do they? 🙂 I guess that’s a good thing, right? Anyway, the last few days have been terribly hectic but I’ve managed to squeeze in a few minutes today to blog. Yes, I am still alive, and am still definitely kicking up a storm hahaha.
Let me just do a quick recap of what had happened in the last few days as I know I haven’t been keeping you peeps up to speed on the “goings- on” 🙂 Last January 24 was a night full of music!
It began early with Smart Communications, the leading wireless telecom provider in the Philippines, co- presenting the Gala Night of Broadway musical hit, Wicked, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
This was my 2nd time to watch the musical– I watched it for the 1st time in New York and because of jetlag, I was not exactly “concentrating” (wink wink, if you know what I mean when I say jetlag haha). This second time, Smart was generous enough to invite me to watch it and I loved it! Thank you Smart for the experience of Wicked because it was only this time that I really, thoroughly enjoyed it– and wow, the cast received a standing ovation for their very impressive performance!
After Smart’s “Wicked” night, I headed over to SM Aura for the Hennessy Artistry event which saw a lot of musical talent come together for one big electronic dance music “concert” (if that’s even the right word for it). I’m one of those unfortunate peeps who never gets to attend any of those big EDM events because I’m never around town for one 🙁 *I’ve missed Zedd and Avicii, talents whose music I both looove*. So I was lucky to have caught this year’s H Artistry party which had Australian talent Timomatic, KimKat, Nicole Asensio, Urbandub, Jessica Milner, Motherbasss come together for the big musical event.
It was such a packed event, and it was also a chance for me to see friends and enjoy a bit of the chilly temperatures we are currently experiencing in otherwise scorching Manila 🙂
Fast forward to January 28, where one of the country’s largest shopping malls, SM Megamall officially launched its newest wing, Mega Fashion Hall. This wing will be hosting the country’s very first H&M super store– woohoo, finally they are opening in August (or if we clotheshorses get lucky, much earlier than that) as well as the first Michelin- starred dimsum place from Hong Kong, Tim Ho Wan.
The event started early and ended with the “launch” of the many faces of Mega Fashion Hall, all of whom were shot by Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist. I’m so happy that one of my friends, Elite Models Management Managing Director Eughie Teng, was part of that 🙂
More comprehensive posts in the next few days, and hopefully I also get to launch the blog’s new look 🙂 I can’t wait for you all to see it, and hopefully you will like it as much as I do!
