Just how young is too young when it comes to buying designer bags for your little girls- sisters, daughters, nieces, and goddaughters?
Apparently it is never too young, or you won’t see miniature versions of iconic designer bags– remember the mini versions of the Celine Luggage, the LV Speedy, the Chanel Classic Flap, the Mulberry Alexa, and even the Hermes Kelly and Birkin!
Thing is, these brands never really intended to make bags for little girls. But yes that’s what those mini versions ended up as 🙂
And then there is Gucci.
I just saw the cutest little animal- shaped monogram bags from Gucci, made especially for the shopaholics-in-waiting.
I bet my pretty penny that Valentina Hayek- Pinault (celebu-spawn of Salma Hayek And Gucci *PPR*’s Francois Pinault) has her own bag collection that might rival Mama Salma’s 😉
That said though, I think I’d still rather stick to cutesy non- designer brand bags for girls until such time that they can actually take good care of the bags. Also it might even be more prudent to hold off designer bag purchases for little girls- that way perhaps they have something to look forward to when they grow up: saving money to buy their own bags. Rewards like that are just so much sweeter, and it teaches them the value of money (not to take luxury for granted) !
Agree? After all, we still want to see financially responsible bag hags in society 🙂
