Crossed Over to the Wild Side!

Sooo sorry I didn’t blog this Sunday. I got caught up with a lot of “real life” stuff :), plus our company had to work on a last minute project with an int’l cosmetics firm *yay!!!* and I had to finish my “part”  before turning over everything to my partner before I fly out. Oh yeah, and I had to start packing… well, sort of *ok, long story, but the short of it all is, I have to start editing what I am bringing or my suitcases will be so overweight*
Anyway, let my packing dilemma not be the topic tonight (or I’ll just get stressed and not bring any clothes at all– except the one on my back hahaha… it could happen!! ). Can I just share something about animal prints?
Ok, some years ago, I cringed at the thought of wearing or carrying something with animal prints– i.e. leopard spots, zebra stripes. I used to think only the older women who wished to “look younger “would wear them *ok please don’t stone me after what I just wrote haha*. It’s not my fault I thought that way hahaha– because I would only see animal prints on the more “mature” set in the past!!
But oh not anymore (or, oh crap am I getting older aka becoming part of that mature set????). I still can’t stop thinking about that leopard print ponyhair Celine luggage tote, which by the way is soooo sold out 🙁
So for now, I’ve managed to narrow down my animal print bag choices to these:
YSL Roady for US$2,995 at Neiman Marcus. It’s a pretty pricey bag, but between this and the Nylon Leopard Print bowler also by YSL, I’d rather get this. The Nylon leopard- print bowler really looked cheap *sorrrryyyy YSL*

YSL Roady

I think this bag would be good, although here’s a small concern– the bag might be too deep. But oh boy I can only think of all the things I can put inside that bag *wide smile* 🙂

Alaia Printed Calf Hair Tote

Oh Alaia! I never forgot about Alaia. Early 90s. Veronica Webb, Stephanie Seymour in Alaia. Oh that was a dress I wanted so bad, but hah, even back then, I already had “issues” *ok they’re not really issues, I am just not comfortable in them haha.. how can I eat??* about tight- fitting clothes (Obviously still not that confident until now hahaha). This bag’s very basic looking, which is probably why I like it. Something this “busy”, print- wise, doesn’t need any more extra details. So this is a perfect animal- print tote (next to Celine :D). Priced at £ 2828.11– not cheap at all, but *sigh* I would love to have this!!
For more animal prints, check out The Animal Kingdom at Net-A-Porter

And then you have this bag.

Carlos Falchi, what were you thinking?!

Ok, I may have crossed over but oye, I did not cross over to the dark side to want this bag bad. For US$ 1,895??? This is serious highway robbery. Sure, it’s an animal print collage, but come on, it looks so cheap, even if that front dark brown (or black) panel is made from crocodile leather. This is going to win the BUGLY BAG of the month award! *Shudders*. (Hehehe, sorry if there are those of you out there who like this bag, but seriously this is heinous!) But hey, if you like it, you can get this at Neiman Marcus.

What about you– do you own an animal print bag yet? Or are you planning to get one this year? What’s your take on them? 🙂
