Bag Reviews: Tod’s Cape and Wave Bags for FW2015

By now, you know that I am a big fan of Tod’s. In fact I’ve been a fan for a looooong time– even before this blog began. But I loved their shoes more than their bags before 🙂 Since Alessandra Facchinetti became their creative director, I became an even bigger fan of the brand. The brand can do no wrong in my eyes– the bags’ designs have been so spot on and so different as compared to many other designer brands that chose to conform to “popular” shapes and styles. This is what sets creative design apart from commercial design.

My current favorite (aside from the brand’s classic D Styling and doctor’s bag style staples ) include the Cape bag:

I have the mini version of this cape bag and it is really sooo cute!

I just love the idea of carrying smaller bags lately and this is such a no- fuss bag. Everything that you really need to bring with you to go out fits perfectly into the mini Cape. It can be carried by its handles or also as a clutch! You just slide your wrist onto the handle and carry the bag by its bottom. This carrying style really comes in handy! The only thing I wish it had was a detachable shoulder strap!IMG_20150831_185352

There is also a new Tod’s bag which makes its debut in a few weeks (if it hasn’t yet found its way into store shelves) is the Tod’s Wave bag.

It comes in different styles, and I actually love the large Wave clutch best, but this gommino studded version below seemed to also be a popular choice among the press who have come to see it during the FW2015 presentation here in the Philippines.

That “whipstitch” bangle is also from the FW2015 collection of Tod’s by the way. This brand has found its strength not just in shoes, but also in bags as well as in accessories. As you all know, Tod’s is really well- known for leather goods, so if you buy the gommino loafers or the latest Tod’s bag, know that you are buying one of the best leather goods brands in the world.
