Bag Review: Walter Steiger Totes

I’m so terribly sorry if I haven’t been able to blog in the last day or so. I was on the plane and at airports for nearly 20 hours and have pretty much been sleeping somewhere in between and taking these much needed rests. *Hmm I must be getting oldER because I seem to get tired more.. hahaha*

So anyway, I am back in my home country, the Philippines, and getting used to a 34 degree weather increase. When I left Paris, it was snowing and was -2 degrees. When I arrived Manila, it was hot and sunny at 32 degrees! Insane temperature change right? I just want to soak in a tub of ice cold water 🙂

Anyway, it’s back to regular blogging for this old hag and today’s post is about the totes that Walter Steiger had designed for the upcoming FW2013. Yes, if you didn’t yet know, Walter Steiger also makes bags! The focus of the brand remains on shoes, but this time I have to share the photo of this beautiful two- for tote because it gets my approval 😉

The camel colored tote initially reminded me of the Proenza Schouler tote, only because of the color and the thin straps– but Proenza tote straps didn’t run down the entire length of the bag. What I do like about this bag is its functionality. There are actually 2 bags to this tote– there is a hidden clutch pochette inside that you can use as well. These days it’s not just about the de rigueur detachable- adjustable shoulder straps anymore. It’s also about the versatility and multi- functionality of a bag that makes it a better investment piece.

The Walter Steiger totes are very well- made, very classy and nowhere near trendy in the style department (and this is what makes the bag have that “lasting power”), and definitely subtle (no logos or monograms). It can be a no- fuss, fail-safe, key piece in your wardrobe and will work with pretty much anything in the closet, guaranteed!
