Bag Review: Oscar- worthy Clutches!

I know how clutches can just be the most impractical bag to own, but there are times in the month (at night especially) when you just wish you don’t have to lug around that huge thang called “your bag”. Especially on Oscars Night (a good clutch always accompanies awesome bling hehe 😀 )

I’ve always believed that I shouldn’t be spending more than 10k on a clutch. Hehe but sometimes I get sucked into that “I-must-have-that-clutch” vortex and I end up with a new clutch that costs more than nice big bag (I know, how impractical!). But with a plethora of choices from top designers, how can you ignore these little things?? I rest my case.

Bottega Veneta metallic gold and pink intrecciato leather clutch with press stud fastening. Take a good look at the color of the leather weave. Pink and gold. Very subtle, and uber duper classy. Well, for £493.62 , most of those who fall in love with this clutch will simply have to close their eyes when they sign on the dotted line. Available at net-a-porter.com

Derek Lam Clothilde leather bag. Priced at £557.45, this beautiful leather bag has unique details like the ram fastening on the top. I love that you can take out the strap and sling it on your arm as you sip your champagne (or NAD= non alcoholic drink hehe). And I like the ruching of the leather as well. Available at net-a-porter.com

Here’s another bag that’s worthy of a mention. Nancy Gonzales white crocodile clutch for US$1450, available at neimanmarcus.com. If you are so worried that you will get white bag sdirty, the best way to minimize that “problem” and still enjoy using white, is to get a clutch in white 🙂 It being a croc clutch is most certainly a welcoming consolation. Love this white clutch! *whistle*.

And then of course the Celestina clutch in copper weave called Moonlight Loop is making waves as well. Sandra Bullock was recently seen carrying this clutch at the Costume Designers Guild Awards Gala. Va Va voom!

Sigh, I think I lack sleep *and of course no one to blame but me!*. I watched the Oscars a bit late this morning, and though I was pleased with the outcomes, I still wished Meryl Streep and Will Smith won Best actress and actor respectively. Oh well, but the winners deserved the win, as they really were good too. This afternoon, I met up with baghag EAI who was vavavoom in her shoes *looove the shoes!*. EAI is now my business mentor *teehee*! Oh this is funny, the other day, la famille and I just hung out at the little snacks corner of Rustan’s *where all the kids hang out*. I was staring deep into space when someone called my name. It was super chef Florabel (of Florabel’s at the Podium– known for their foie gras burger *droooool* and the superduper goooooood mushroom and foie gras salad!!!). 😀 I saw her first but noticed her striking Hermes twilly *loove it!*. Sooo, dang that was really embarrassing of me to just look totally spaced out– and I wasn’t even taking any medication *muwahaha*. I think it’s time to go pay Florabel’s a visit once more. I better go on a strict veggie diet in preparation for the rich food 🙂

P.S. Here’s something for the clotheshorse baghag: ALL THAT GLITTERS… Rustan’s will have a Private Viewing of the Spring/Summer 2007 collection from Nicole Miller, Tadashi, Adrianna Papell, BCBG Max Azria *woohoo me likey*, Max and Cleo, and Patra/Stenay as well as Pianegonda on FEB.28, between 3pm- 8pm at the 2nd floor of Rustan’s Makati. Please rsvp at 817.7935. Baghags, you are all welcome to go 🙂

xx
