Bag Review: Bulgari Serpenti Satin Clutch

Let me be honest,  I love Bvlgari for the jewels and the watches, but I knew so little about their bag collection.
So when I went to the presentation for the Serpenti bags, I was actually pleasantly surprised! VERY surprised. Bulgari designated 2012 as their year of the serpent (a symbol of eternity as well as change *without really changing its identity*)– the serpent has also been associated with the brand for over 4 decades and this coming season it makes its presence visible in the bag collection.
I singled this particular collection out because I am always in search of that perfect “investment” clutch. I’ve never initially been one to splurge on a clutch because I don’t always get bang for the buck– it’s not one of those bags that I would use every week (in that constant use will justify its price).
But I am changing my mind about that of late. I find that very good clutches– classy and functional ones are really hard to find. The Bulgari Serpenti wrist pochettes are perfect!

I would go for the black satin pochette as my first investment clutch. I super loooove the enamel Serpenti bracelet- bangle which comes with the clutch for that hands- free carry.

And the bangle itself is so chic! It is the “body” of the serpent head clasp!  The enamel bangle is no ordinary bangle either. The clasp itself is made in bronze through a micro- casting process, and it later goes through careful galvanizing, coppering, and then gold plating (so no worries about the clasp “oxidizing”).

There is really nothing chicer than this clutch. This has to be one of the best clutches created this coming season.
Bulgari scored a major coup in this Serpenti Satin wrist pochette! Loving them!!
