Back to Louis Vuitton

Had an extraordinary lunch at Sala with the wonderful women behind Louis Vuitton Philippines to catch up on the brand and their recent Paris show. Post- lunch, I found it befitting to pop over the House that Monogram Built :D. I had wanted to check out 2 bags, and I ended up falling in love with one– but it’s not one of those 2 bags that I had originally intended to look at!

This is the root of my newest obsession:

The LV Selene Bag

While I was considering a bag from the SS2012 runway collection, my eyes veered away from it and onto this Selene bag from the Mahina leather collection. I love the chocolate colored handle which works as the perfect contrast to the body of this bag in lagon blue color. The color is on the teal side of blue. It also comes in sandy beige– and although I see that color as more “neutral” and easy to use, I am more drawn to the difficult color 🙂
The bag is quite fantastic– it has 2 zippers that meet in the middle, so there is no right or wrong side of carrying it (unlike other bags which have zipper ends facing the back– giving pickpockets that opportunity to open your bag without you knowing). The short chocolate shoulder strap is detachable in case you’d like to use the longer shoulder/ cross-body strap which also happens to be detachable. No worries about that shoulder strap cutting into your shoulder blades because the strap is wide enough to be comfortable.
I am seriously loving the bag– it has excellent form and is without question versatile. Check it out at Louis Vuitton, bag hags. This one’s worth buying.
