Here’s Steve Jobs, holding the newest member of the Apple family!

  1. I’m from the US. Not a lot of people are excited about it though. Some are even disappointed its like a giant iPod touch and some Filipinos are making fun of the name coz it sounds like an iPod with a Filipino accent =[

    I would wait for more user reviews before getting this one.

  2. @Anon: I want it 🙂 Even if they’re already making fun of it, pitting it against the iTampon 🙂 I just really need a portable “computer” that I can bring along when I travel– even if it’s just a bigger iPod 🙂 So I think this would suit me. But like you, my DH said to hold off on 1st generation iPad and wait for the reviews. (hehehe that still won’t stop me though, but I’ll definitely be taking everything into consideration)

    @AnnCas: It’s a pretty amazing little gadget 🙂

  3. I’m from the US & I’m excited about it! know, it’s amazing!! Seriously, I can’t wait to play with it. Which one are you getting?? I’m headed towards the 32gb WiFi + 3G. Yes, something that I can bring along.. My Mac Air seems bulky now. My DH said he’ll get me one! Yay!!

  4. i don’t care what they say about it, too. i want one! then, i’d probably hold on to it long enough and skip buying the 2nd gen. then, buy an upgrade of the 3rd gen, 3 years from now… splendid! hahaha! 😀

  5. @mrsmartinez: That’s the setback, no webcam. But then again, speaking from experience, i hardly use the webcam because if i do, it’s slow (internet connection)

    @appledumplings: he is a genius. The man’s practically made billions for the company!

    @mrsMac: Sounds like a plan!! I think ill do that too!

    @browneyedgirl: yeah not bad right? 🙂

    @Anon re Multitasking: You’re right, I didn’t think of that.

    @AnnCas: I probably wont need 3G for the next 2 years, so Ill go with just the WiFi but haha i need large space!

  6. Yeah, I agree with all your and your readers’ comments. As with all new gadgets there are going to be “issues”. But I personally would hold off until I know what they are. Weigh the pros and cons. For one, the keypad/board doesn’t look very comfy to use especially for those with bigger hands. It does look promising and very attractive to the not-so-techie buyers (like me!). Remember the Iphone?–so much hype and soooo overpriced–and they so held off on the first generation Iphone and then shortly afterwards released the 2nd generation, “much improved” version with a thousand apps that people hardly use. Good luck with your purchase and I hope it works out for you. As for me, I’m sticking to my brand spanking new netbook (not an HP), until the 3rd generation IPad comes out, then I’ll buy it! Muwahahaha! 🙂
