Another Day in My Life :)

So yesterday has to be one of the most memorable days of 2012– not just for me but also for the rest of the people in the Philippines who still care about the state of our government and our money (hello taxes) 🙂
Anyway, yesterday I had the pleasure of being one of the guests of my friend Eliza and was able to witness something historical *Thaaaaankkk youuu Eliza!!!*. At the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

I couldn’t believe my own eyes. Corona. Practically the most controversial man in the Philippines.

The night before I was at the Lady Gaga concert, then yesterday I was at a Senate hearing/ impeachment trial 🙂 If you have a twitter account and were following my local twitter account (thebaghagph), then you’d know how interesting the hearing became– because I decided to tweet things that TV cameras inside the Session Hall wouldn’t have otherwise shown you 😀
One of my tweets pertained to my willingness to pay PhP 200 for a chocolate yema cupcake that I wished Sen. Pia Cayetano had brought along from her cupcake place, Slice (at the Bonifacio Central, Taguig City). Chocolate Yema cupcakes at Slice cost PhP 60 each.  I was just soooo hungry and we weren’t allowed to have food inside the Session Hall (haha that would’ve been disrespectful and eating inside that hall while the trial was ongoing was akin to just watching some kind of summer blockbuster movie– I don’t think the Senate President or the others in the hall would take too kindly to people who deem the whole trial as some form of entertainment. After all,  those involved are actual politicians/ and officials of our country who run the government :D.  And shortly after I had tweeted about Pia and her cupcakes, what do you know,  she whipped out a little tupperware container with those cupcakes– and distributes them to her fellow Senators! You should’ve heard me let out a little shriek of delight, and longing hahaha– while I watched hungrily from the gallery, on the side. In the hopes she’d smell my hunger and offer one to me LOL. No such luck. Senators who were lucky enough to have those cupcakes? Bong Revilla and Gringo Honasan. And hah, I’ve managed to catch that photo of him holding his cupcake. I stared at that cupcake hungrily. LOL. *Cue stomach growling*
Anyway, so that was yesterday afternoon. The trial lasted until 6pm which really left me no time to head back home and go back to the SMX Convention Center to attend the first show for Philippine Fashion Week. The party didn’t end there though– because last night also happened to be Mega Magazine’s 20 Most Beautiful party at Mango Tree– and that was where this lady went!
The afterparty *well our group’s own little after-party* was at Slice and guess who I saw?! LOL! Senator Pia Cayetano! So I took the opportunity and showed her the photo I took from my Samsung Galaxy Note (with those scribbles). She laughed and sent us a Chocolate Yema- Red Velvet Sundae as a result. Pia is officially my cupcake goddess 🙂 She heard my cupcake craving 😀
Anyway that was how my night went. I’m now in Singapore and about to head out the door for lunch with the lovely Fendi team (I’m here for an event) 😀 Let me blog again later. If you do want updates though, you can follow me on Twitter.Com/THEBAGHAG 🙂 I will be tweeting very regularly!!
