ALLTHINGSEXPENSIVE.BLOGSPOT.COM + Inquirer “finds”

All this talk about jewellery made me decide to update my jewellery blog at
ALLTHINGSEXPENSIVE.BLOGSPOT.COM

Do check them out if you are interested to see gorgeous engagement rings such as this one from Fay Cullen:
Siiigh, it’s so sad to have to want all things expensive *materialistic hag alert!!* but heyy, men have their lust-fors too– err, i.e. an expensive watch/ nice car… 😀 *Hags, WE ARE NOT ALONE !!! woohooo!!*

And speaking again more about jewellery– my friend D! had her DiVa necklace featured yet again on the broadsheet, The Philippine Daily Inquirer. Congratulations, D! 😀 Sorry hags, I am just so proud of my friend– see I feed off the popularity of my friends because I am a total nobody. Just goes to prove that I am a socialclimbing hag *muwahahaha*

Brag-a-Bag Alert: RT emailed me this photo– ugh, girl you are SOOO lucky! You see hags, RT got this beautiful Goyard croisiere 35 in gold and black as a present from her hubby who just came back from Japan! *heart heart heart* Congratulations to another new Goyard owner 🙂

P.S. As I read the Inquirer yesterday, I could not help but gawk at this photo. This bag featured by the writer, came from the shoe and bag store in Manila called Celine (CMG). But I swear to the bag gods, this is an offshoot of the Fendi B bag. (drat, I would’ve loved to see Bryanboy with this bag, doing his pose– that would’ve given Fendi a run for their ad campaign! Teehee!! :D)

Anyway, I wonder if Fendi will go ballistic over the outright copying of their design… Hmm.. which begs the question: Are designer-inspired bags (sans designer label) just as bad as designer fakes?

A thought for you hags to ponder over the weekend 🙂

Oh and before I sign off, more headlines on the Metro– Fake designer resellers got raided. As I’ve said in the past and I say once more– the legal geniuses behind designer brands like Louis Vuitton etc have already begun to pull all stops to prevent more sale of counterfeit items. So please, don’t buy (or heaven forbid, sell) fakes 🙁

Happy weekend to all!

  1. mrs.T, i have been a reader of your blog for some months now and that made me decide to buy my sister a bag as a graduation gift. I am wondering what would fit a fresh graduate like her: a Balenciaga Motorcycle or a Fendi Spy? Your thoughts would surely be helpful…

  2. Hi Mrs. T. I’m a huge fan of your site. Having said that, I need your expert advice as I’m about to make my 2nd LV purchase. You were right about the Speedy being the Pandora’s bag. Anyways I now have the Speedy 25 in Monogram. For my 2nd bag, a pochette multicolore white or a pochette monogram canvas ?

were you at mall of asia last night? =) my friends and i were debating if it were you because we saw a goyard fidji =) but we were 90% sure it was you but we were too shy to come to you =) the woman we saw was with an indigo goyard hobo and she is skinny wearing a lacoste mint shirt =) is that you???? =)

  4. Mrs. T., I know of someone selling designer bags that are factory defects…therefore, cheaper than the genuine kind. What is your take on this?

  5. nice goyard! very pretty!!! 🙂 i think designer inspired are ok rather than blatant fakes (monogram bags etc) but this celine bag is a bit too “inspired”.. it makes me queasy…

  6. regarding resellers, you’re right. i have celebrity friends that were victims of one reseller who sells balenciagas and paddingtons for tens of grands and they didn’t have a clue that the bags were counterfeit. as a bag hag my self, i only resell my bags to other resellers that are trustworthy. meaning, either a friend knows them personally or they have an existing store so i could see the integrity of their items. plus, note to buyers, maybe we all should me wary of being educated (what’s the net doing in our lives?) before their purchases. bag hags like us know what’s fake and real. so, to all of us, please take extra care when buying pre-owned/loved bags. *wink wink*

  8. anonymous on fendi/balenciaga dilemma: heya! 😛 first off id appreciate if you can actually leave your initials or nickname when u leave a comment coz its really hard for me to address your question when i cant even begin to figure out how to address you *hehe i dunwana keep addressing anonymous commenters as “anonymous” tsk :D*. and ohhh, go for a balenciaga by the way.

ej: oh dear go for good ol monogram. the multicolore has this sickness that the colors somewhat get chipped off– it happened to me on my wapity. i switched to monogram thereafter 🙂

jappa_gurl: er.. yes that would be me, but i was NOT skinny!! hmm wait are you with that group of girls sitting across from us?? you got me wondering!! you shouldve said hello 🙂

anonymous on factory defects: first off, please please leave your nickname at least when you reply so i wont feel like im addressing a phantom comment poster *hehe creeeepy feeling!* read my newest entry about your question. factory defects… tsk tsk..

uberlux: you hit the nail on that.

    cheeky: monogram canvas first!!! 🙂

  9. Hi Mrs T! How are you? I would like to share my thoughts on your Q: are designer-inspired bags(sans designer label)just as bad as designer fakes? Honestly, it is a YES for me. Sadly, I’ve seen a lot of our LOCAL shoe/bag/dress retailers copy the EXACT style of designer bags even to the last detail(mention: CMG, MALDITA,etc). It’s so annoying to see these copycats because they use cheap materials plus the fact they even use the bag name itself. Yikes! I guess there are some retailers who want a piece of the “designer” market & bring it on to the masses. I mean it’s okay for everybody to enjoy the privelege but please do it right! So I say no to FAKES & COPYCATS. – JY (dried mangoes =o)

  10. Mrs. T,

I am also contemplating of buying my first lv bag..either the monogram or damier. There are more fake monogram canvas than damier right?

  11. Want to know why knock-offs and fakes are so prevalent in the market? Not all brands want to spend on enforcement/protecting their intellectual property rights. Louis Vuitton is the main player in going after counterfeit luxury goods (but it takes them YEARS to pay their lawyers, the investigators, warehousemen, etc). Prada and Gucci rarely do and American brands are not interested in spending that kind of money in this part of the world. As the baghag said, do your homework and be smart when you buy luxury bags. Know where they are available from and from whom you are buying them if pre-owned.
