After Christmas Sales !

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE !!!

Hope you all had a good Christmas eve celebration with friends and family 🙂 While everyone (including my kids) were busy opening presents last night, I am still unfinished with gift giving (I reckon I’ll be finished by January 4 haha pffffft). Anyway, for now I am just glad I can sleep through the day and not do anything. December 25 is the one day I can actually sleep in and just relax. *I am hoping to do this also on December 31 haha*. It must be old age, you know. I remember I used to look forward to the fanfare and parties, but now, I just want to be home, watch a good video while munching on some lard-ridden potato chips, and fall asleep in the process *with chips in the mouth and video still playing* (yes, like a good pig hehe).

Anyway, time for me to really get out of my little Christmas cocoon and play with my kids (who must have felt neglected coz I was too busy manning our new store with my partner). But of course before I jet off to play with the kids (like a kid), here’s a quick bag post!

One thing shopaholics look forward to more than Christmas, is the after-Christmas sale. Tomorrow is certainly one day I wished I was in the U.S.. It’s tradition for us to troop over to The Square (Union Square) on December 26 for the “Boxing Day” sale (although the “real” Boxing Day holiday is not really celebrated in the US). According to Wikipedia, Boxing Day, December 26th, is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a “shopping holiday” associated with after-Christmas sales.

Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth, Gumps, Macy’s (in-store) all have great post-Christmas sales that are worth attending. Online though, the sale collection is very limited. But here are two noteworthy ones that I could considerably get for myself (if I had enough moolah hahaha… alas, not right now! Sob!)

Salvatore Ferragamo Sartoria pebble clutch was originally priced at US$1,190, then marked down to $713.90, and further marked down to US$285.56. This is a seriously insane markdown!! Available at saksfifthavenue.com

Kooba Rio patent tote. Something that’s more functional that a clutch. Formerly at US$645, it had been lowered to US$161.25. This is a really, really great deal considering this tote is not for an occasion- specific bag. I’m liking this bag, especially after the price slash! Available at saksfifthavenue.com

Alrighty, it’s time for moi to get going. I can hear the kiddies “screaming” already, waiting to open more presents. Meanwhile, I have to start sorting through the gifts I had bought so I can have them delivered tomorrow onwards. Tsk. I’m really such a delinquent Christmas gift giver 🙁 *guilty guilty*

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas day with your respective families!! More bag posts soon!!
