A Painful Pause

OUCH!!! That’s how I feel today. OUCH!!! So here’s a story I just have to share with you peeps– the thought of it sounds ridiculously funny *my two friends couldn’t stop laughing when I told them about it hahaha*, although in reality it’s PAINFUL *bawl bawl sob sob*. Last night after we closed shop, I was going down the stairs of our building when I fell four steps down. Yes, Mrs.T fell down the stairs!!! *muwahaha thud thud thud thud*. How did that happen? Let me tell you the edited version (since edited versions are always funnier haha). So, I was holding my laptop case and my Goyard bag *thank Gawd it was the fidji ;)* and couldn’t reach for the railing since I was on the far end of the steps. I slipped (duh, because I was on the narrow end of the steps. My feet are big and the steps couldn’t accommodate my feet’s full length haha). Fell four steps down. Haha, I was not a pretty sight to see. Laptop bag on one hand, Goyard bag on another, then somewhere in between, I was rubbing my elbow (which got bruised) and my big tushie haha *rub rub rub*. I was able to stand up, thanks to the “boys” of the building who were immediately onhand to help (confession: I think it was really out of sheer embarrassment and perhaps my adrenalin started pumping away that got me to stand up fast haha) and walk away from it at that time, and even drive home! *Supawoman!*. But as soon as I got home, it was not funny anymore. Because I was in pain (to the point I even cried *psst, sympathize*). *Apparently my bum still doesn’t have enough meat to break the fall haha– see I’m not yet that fat!*.

Thinking back, it’s funny because if my US lawyer got wind of this situation, he’d be all over it and already be processing papers to sue (that’s of course if this happened in the US). I can hear him lecturing me now– he’d say “teach them a expensive lesson to be more considerate of passers- by.” *Muwahaha litigious litigious*, but see that’s why I’m not a lawyer, I’m too *cough* nice 🙂 But wait, does that mean I’ll be able to buy that bag I want (and more) if I sue? Hmmm… *ponder ponder* Nah, I can be easily bribed with a bag– say, a Marc Jacobs Quilted Bowler (oye I’m cheap!) that only costs US$995 at NeimanMarcus.com *ok, if that’s too cheap, there’s always the beautiful Bottega Veneta braided handle hobo for US$3,200. Now this I Likey mucho!:)*

Well, good thing this didn’t happen to me in the US! Oh and shhh don’t tell my DM. She doesn’t know this happened. Yet. I have a big bruise on my bum area now, which makes it difficult for me to sit down (the act of sitting down is what’s even more painful. Pathetic!). Thank God I didn’t have any broken bones. And thank God for Tylenol Codeine and those icepacks! Oh and most importantly, thank the Bag gods that I wasn’t carrying an Hermes Birkin when I fell down *hahaha que horror!!*. Sigh… I must’ve pinched a nerve or two, and if the pain persists, I’ve to pay the doctor a visit. Sigh, what’s this relationship between me and doctors. Just when I thought I was already safe from the clinic… tsk. So there. That’s also a lesson to everyone– always be careful when going down the stairs. Or if you notice that the other person is having difficulty coming down the stairs because you are blocking the way, allow them for more room to pass. Be considerate, ‘coz you wouldn’t want the same thing to happen to you (and be the laughing stock hahaha like I am right now– I can’t believe even the peeps from the nearby salon know about it! Talk about embarrassing!) It’s been a pretty painful experience for me, not to mention a very humiliating one. But of course, me being me, I’ve to share it with you hags 😀

Hmm does this mean DH will pity me and buy me that Chanel expandable tote? *wishful thinking? or forseeable reality? hehe* (Credit card goes swipe swipe swipe, the cash registers go cha ching cha ching… and Mrs.T’s bank account goes on silent. *Muwahahaha debt time!!!!*) I honestly can’t decide between a black and a white one (the white looks the same in color as that Bottega hobo). I wish they didn’t make it in lambskin coz it’s prone to scratches, although I love that it’s oh-so-soft. I wonder though what it would’ve looked like if it were in patent…

Oh and speaking of patent, I was checking out the Stella Mc Cartney Faux patent hobo bag. I like that it’s a pretty nondescript white patent bag, but my oh my, the price is unreasonable for FAUX patent, non? It’s US$965 at neimanmarcus.com

Meanwhile, Prada has that new Ombre patent tote bag in a nice monochromatic shade priced at a cool US$2,270 *ouch*. But it’s pretty and I’m sure you can pair that bag with almost anything.

Anyway, as much as I’d love to wallow in the comforts of my bed, I need to get up and going since I’ve a meeting with a lovely lady at the shop later. Gotta get off my bum and get ready to face the humiliation at my building *muwahaha*.

Will blog about the other event I went to later. And speaking of events, There are more things to do in this town of ours 🙂

Events, events!! THE IMELDA COLLECTION will have a tea party and viewing tomorrow, JULY 26, 2007, Thursday, from 3pm – 7pm at Serendra’s Thai at Silk. Please do go if you get the chance. It’s a fun event– it always has been 🙂 I’ll be there too (sore bum and all), so please drop by and check out the new pieces in the collection! (Credit card payments are accepted).

P.S. Tresor Mobile is still not working properly. Sorry for the inconvenience! You can send us messages but we can’t reply. Not yet anyway. 🙁 *Working on it!*

Take care peeps and have a good, accident- free day 😀

xx,
The humbled “black and blue- bummed” taitai wannabe, Mrs.T

  1. hello Mrs.T.. sorry to hear about your little accident… i’ve been reading your blog since i discovered it the other day. (i wish i knew about this blog a long time ago..) you mentioned laptop case/bag today.. and i was wondering what laptop bag you can suggest for me to buy..well i know you’re more into luxury bags.. it’s just not i don’t know who to ask. My hubby told me to buy the common samsonite backpack/laptop bag..but i so don’t like that! anyway, i just thought of asking your opinion. i don’t belong to your circle of friends since i don’t own any of the luxurious bags you have..sob sob… i only own a kate spade :p

  2. oh gosh, i remember when my friend and i BOTH fell down the stairs of esprit in glorietta. their stairs were very slippery and my friend fell the first flight of stairs then when i tried to help her, i fell. the worst part was, everyone saw me bec by the time i fell everyone had turned to look at us. and i wasn’t even there to purchase, there was just an event and we were supporting a friend. but the good thing was, like you we were able to laugh at ourselves I couldn’t even think of dying, I was just thinking, thud thud (there were at least 10 steps, im not kidding I went all the way down) thud get up get up get up save face. ehhehe
